Why are you a part of the occupy wall street movement? What injustices have caused you to protest? What would you like to see changed? What are your thoughts on globalization, transnational corporations, and capitalism? Anything else you'd like to say on what you think of the current situation? I am writing a research paper on the occupy wall street movement for my 400 level course titled 'Global Restructuring'. The object is to understand the theoretical framworks of the current capitalist global system, the reasons stagnation happens, and the implications of the neoliberal model and the epochal shift currently happening according to Marxist and Neogramscian theory. My intention is to frame it within the theoretical framework established by Bill Robinson, Foster and Magdoff, Agnew, and other theorists. I was hoping I could use this as an 'interview' with various people in the movement to use as a stepping off point for my research along with newspaper articles and other sources. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Background information: "Five Interwoven Economies: Subsistence, Gift, Exchange, Planned, and Theft" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vK-M_e0JoY "This video presents a simplified education model about socioeconomics and technological change. It discusses five interwoven economies (subsistence, gift, exchange, planned, and theft) and how the balance will shift with cultural changes and technological changes. It suggests that things like a basic income, better planning, improved subsistence, and an expanded gift economy can compensate in part for an exchange economy that is having problems."
