a group of suits wouldn't randomly put dents in other folks' cars
1) Car drives up to pedestrian 2) Pedestrians stop, turns, and motions with his arms 3) Driver moves forward and BUMPS pedestrian 4) Pedestrian pounds hood of car 5) Driver revs his engine and guns his car into pedestrian.
If this type of behavior is now considered a legal use of your car, let me know.
i wouldn't idle there and do a reginald denny, for sure.
"reginald denny", WTF are you talking about, the place was swarming with cops.
So, you are OK with someone ramming a pedestrian that touches the hood of your car, AFTER you bump them with your car?
if he is beating my car up with his fists, and there is a whole crowd of crazy people on the roads together with him blocking other cars, i'm sure as hell going to slam the gas out of there.
He didn't beat the hood of the car UNTIL the car bumped him. What would you do if a car INTENTIONALLY bumped you as you cross an intersection, apologize to the driver?
This driver deserves to have his ass sued off, as wel as jail time for attempted murder.
if a car bumped me as i crossed the intersection, i am surely NOT supposed to be crossing it.
WTF, are you brain dead. There is NO intersection in the entire country that a pedestrian does not have the right of way. Did you take drivers ed in middle school?
doesn't mean you walk across it like you own the road.
i don't know where you come from where you can strut around in the middle of the road and expect drivers to go around you.
You IDIOT pedestrians HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY, means, yes pedestrians OWN the road.
I think for the safety of others you should become aware of the concept, that in this country YOU CAN"T INTENTIONALLY RACE YOUR CAR INTO PEDESTRIANS! No matter how pissed you are. IT ILLEGAL.
How about, yeah you have no common sense. I'm not dumb enough to argue the law with physics. Physics wins no matter what. Don't stand in front of moving cars that you know damn well want to get where they're going.
You and that nut that pressed on his gas peddle and intentionally rammed his 4500 lb car into a few pedestrians not only lack common sense but you also lack common DECENCY and morals, you don't belong among others, go to hell.
See what happens when you have such a strong entitlement mentality? Roads are for cars. If you don't have the sense of self preservation to not step into a busy street, you get what you deserve.
Reminds me of GA where there are signs everywhere reminding you that pedestrians have the right of way. And believe me they will just step randomly off into a street to cross and not even give a cursory look. I'm from Chicago myself, and do you have ANY idea how many times I almost killed someone pulling that shit? You do that up here and you are roadkill my friend. And really, are you going to argue right of way when you're DEAD? Didn't think so.
Yabada Yabada yabada… intentionally hitting a pedestrian IS AGAINST THE LAW. A simple yea, your'e right would suffice.
why don't you try walking in the middle of a busy highway... after all, you own it.
let me know the results.
This didn't HAPPEN ON A HIGHWAY…nut.
And even on a Highway YOU CAN'T INTENTIONALLY RUN PEDESTRIANS OVER. It's still against the law. Try it, let me know the results.
That's Attempted Murder..
Or the jury may believe the driver had enough fear of the crowd to get them get away with calling it self defense. You can make it sound good, trapped by a screaming crowd, not allowed to move, people banging on the car, makes a nice story and doubt goes to the accused in criminal matters. Driver will probably loose big in civil court though.
That non-sense won't fly with cops all over the area. Attempted Murder. And also the drivers actions preceding the incident in no way indicate fear, arrogance yes.
You may be right, but strange things happen in trials months and months down the road. People that look guilty at the time get off somehow. There was a mistake made in letting the driver go, or the police had it out for the demonstrators, or there was a reason to feel sympathy for the driver, I wasn't there and no one on a jury will have been there.
