Forum Post: Wow THAT got me censored immediately!

Most people here can see that I'm not a troll. I'm not necessarily a loyal Occupy Wall Street supporter, but I'm not a troll. My contribution to the movement so far has been to begin the process of hiring at least one person who I met through this web site.

And so my messages are almost never deleted by moderators. I can recall one time, when I really did cross a line by posting an embedded image to Dr Evil demanding a trillion dollars. Okay yes, I did deserve that one.

But wow. I just pointed out an uncomfortable truth about Occupy Wall Street's finances, and the message was immediately deleted. I would actually consider it censorship. Is anybody interested in the little piece of trivia about Occupy Wall Street that I pointed out, that got immediately censored?

It's amazing how you people will find an way you can to discredit the movement. You can't just call them dirty hippies anymore because "normal" people are occupying. You can't call them leftist commies anymore because a lot of right-wingers are joining. So now you just dig and dig for anything to make them look bad. You're the human equivalent of a steaming pile of dog shit.

Amalgamated Bank also owns 1 million shares of News Corp. the holding company of Fox News.

That bank is also under investigation by the FDIC and other bank regulators.

I am interested

Are you hiring sir?

[-] 0 points by NachoCheese (268) 13 years ago

Click on his profile name and send him a private message.

[-] 1 points by monahan (272) 13 years ago

I would like a job sir. I'm tired of trying to speak sensibly here.

[-] 1 points by JoeThePatriot (153) 13 years ago

I could use a job to. Isn't this a wonderful forum, and the guy that made it is a genius-----kiss, kiss----- ha, ha

[-] 1 points by JoeThePatriot (153) 13 years ago

I just joined and yours is the first forum I looked at

What did you do I am middle of the road with this thing I might get censored to?

[-] 0 points by dantes44 (431) from Alexandria, VA 13 years ago

Don't worry Joe. You're bound to get censored if you're middle of the road. I posted a vid yesterday stating that Occupy Columbus needed support (there are only 3 people there.) And that sent to the trash bin within a minute.

[-] 1 points by JoeThePatriot (153) 13 years ago

Did they give you any reason or warnings about kicking you out?

[-] 0 points by dantes44 (431) from Alexandria, VA 13 years ago

No. But I wasn't kicked out. Just the post wasn't displayed. And it may not have been censorship at all. The main forum post page moves so fast that I may have just missed it.

[-] 1 points by JoeThePatriot (153) 13 years ago

I have some friends that told me that. They said there is so much going on, that any forum they tried to make just goes away and they have no way to find it

They were blaming it on people that didn't agree with owc

No. OWS needs a coherent message. People are leaving because they see it as a useless waste of time. Which it is at this point.

[-] 1 points by TechJunkie (3029) from Miami Beach, FL 13 years ago

In the conversation about the proposal to march to Goldman Sachs and demand jobs, I simply pointed out the uncomfortable truth about how Occupy Wall Street is investing in Goldman Sachs.

ZAP. It was deleted immediately.

[-] 1 points by JoeThePatriot (153) 13 years ago

I forgot to add that it still sucks that they would censor that. I have looked around and I see a ton of things that should go before that

[-] 1 points by JoeThePatriot (153) 13 years ago

I just read that, but it looks devisive to me. What bank could you put money into that's not connected.

I use BofA and Wellsfargo. is my money going to same place?

I am pretty ignorant of how it all works but I saw a video that portrays them pretty much all linked

[-] 1 points by TechJunkie (3029) from Miami Beach, FL 13 years ago

Why are they putting their money in a bank in the first place if they're protesting banks?

[-] 1 points by JoeThePatriot (153) 13 years ago

That's a damn good question

[-] 1 points by Yepper (277) 13 years ago

I heard one of the webmasters switched the donate button to a private account.

[-] 0 points by dantes44 (431) from Alexandria, VA 13 years ago

If anyone donates cash to OWS they're foolish (but Obama2012 will be thankful) Donate goods directly to your local Occupy movement, not money. Someone is making a mint off of the people.

yes

[-] 0 points by NachoCheese (268) 13 years ago

Why is this not surprising?

I stated last week that I was a supporter of the Tea Party at the beginning, but abandoned that group when the partisans and party apparatchiks co-opted the movement for their own ideological purposes. I pointed out that I was seeing the same "ideological purity purging" beginning to occurring with OWS and that if left unchecked would lead to the co-opting of this movement as well.

It appears that my observations are correct.

Welcome to the "3%"...congratulations partisans, you have neutered yet another movement.

This is something I've been trying to fight as well. It just seems that this is the nature of our national mindset. To polarize everything to the point that it no longer represents anyone except the minority.

why would the lead organizer of ows suddenly remove the word anarchist from their wiki?

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lisa_Fithian&action=historysubmit&diff=456591761&oldid=451267612

[-] 1 points by cmt (1195) from Tolland, CT 13 years ago

No, that was how someone else was describing her. The wiki removed it because it was attacking her rather than just desrcibing her.

[-] 1 points by JoeThePatriot (153) 13 years ago

This person is the lead organizer. I was under the impression there were no organizers

Do you know who some of the others are, this is getting interesting

[-] 0 points by NachoCheese (268) 13 years ago

Adbusters, moveon.org, Soros, etc...

[-] 1 points by JoeThePatriot (153) 13 years ago

Thanks I will google those names and check it out
