Hello, I'd love to come to NY or other places to join the protest, but I can't because I just can't leave work that long. I had an idea--can someone set up a site where protesters can post their personal reasons for actually being there, and then other people can kinda click on them and say "I agree with you, and I'd like you to represent me on the square, as well!".
I know it's not the same as actually being bothered to get out there and do our thing, but it's all I've got. Each protester could conceivably represent hundreds, even thousands of people and potentially exponentially increase the impact.
Best Regards, rasto
How about sponsor a protestor? For only $1 a day you could contribute to the well being of a protestor. You will recieve a mug shot, daily email updates, and map pinpointing the actual sleeping location.
awesome!
... This is a brilliant idea. Lots of people can't be physically there, but their voice should be heard too. It's just a matter of finding a way to properly set it up. Make it entirely transparent and make sure the voting can't be rigged (ie. making sure each "vote" actually represents a person).
I don't know how this "representation" system could integrate with the general assembly dynamic. Perhaps by bumping up people on the talker list?
There's an Occupy in Houston. http://occupyhouston.org/
