Occupy movement must have participation from every individual in the country who is in the 99% for maximum impact. A lot of middle-class people support the movement but cannot join the protests as they need to work to pay their bills, mortgages, etc. However, the movement must find ways to allow such people to participate as well.
Participation is social discourse, everywhere. Discussions with the unwilling or unknowing are powerful tools to forward knowledge.
Everybody can boycott the companies that are screwing us
So true, we have to keep on educating the activists who don't understand. Where would OWS be without the unions, for example?
Have there been any organized efforts to set message banners on highway overpasses at routes into the city: GSP, Turnpike, etc.? I'm thinking of one that would read:"Police want martial law" or "This is a facist state", given that the funds and training the police have received (since 9-11) to counter outside threats are being utilized now to put down our own our own populace.
