NAWAPA is an economic development project that is advocated particularly for the kind of people that are involved in OWS. It is a program intended to take millions of unemployed young people and put them to work on infrastructure development projects. They would earn a fair wage and learn productive skills. Some of them would go on to become scientists and engineers.

Currently, about 50% of the fresh water that falls in the US, falls on Alaska and flows off into the ocean. NAWAPA would divert that water through Canada to the central American desert, and transform that land first into agricultural areas and eventually into cities. The water that would then circulate as rain fall throughout the US would have a "greening" effect, helping both wild and domestic plants to grow all over the country.

So if people say that OWS is lacking actual proposals to make things better, think of projects like NAWAPA and learn more about them.

They said that if God intended for man to fly, he would have given us wings. They say that if God wanted us to be on the moon, he would have put us there in the first place. So if God intended for the deserts to be green he would have made them that way and we wouldn't have to do it ourselves right?? Wrong, we humans were made in the image of the CREATOR so we must use that creativity to CREATE a better life by using the God given tools given us already and subdue nature for the benefit of all man kind. The trillions of dollars that are being used by Wall Street gamblers could certainly be put to better use.
