Perhaps occupying is the only means of accomplishing the change you seek. Back during the American Revolution, they were able to outfight them and outgun them. However, this must be a peaceful resistance/non-cooperation/occupy.
The militarized police state that our country has become so powerful and pervasive that it is no longer possible for us to rise up with our guns to overthrow the government. History also shows that the means by which you do this only replaces the old system with something worse (or, in our case - something not much better than Europe).
Voting is no longer effective. The campaign process is corrupt.
Maybe all we have left is to stop going along and to say, "Hell, no! We're not going to take it anymore!".
That pretty much sums it up.
