What is the purpose? Doesn't it actually hurt the cause?
Was it modeled after the protests in Tahrir square? Would Ghandi or King approve?
Occupying 'foreign' land is a show of power. Being forced to un-occupy shows weakness while leaving voluntarily sends a strong message: We did it before and we can do it again if we want to. Too bad the NYCGA didn't realize that back in November.
It got lots of attention to the issues of income inequality, money in politics, poverty, joblessness, loss of homes and police brutality. The political debate in this country has been changed by the courage of the Occupiers. That's why the PTB felt they had to squelch the occupations. OWS is composed of some very courageous and quite smart people who have kept the movement alive through these difficult times. Be certain you have not seen or heard the last of Occupy.
People are camping out? Havent seen anything about it on the national news.
