Forum Post: Why I believe Mitt Romney (or Herman Cain) will win in 2012...

The average American is married, 30/40 years old, 2-3 kids and is employed....you can picture some male or female who is conservatively moderate.

There are three types of people in America. The Republicans, the Democrats and the Independents. Both the Republicans and the Democrats have already made up their mind who they want to vote for in November 2012. However, the Independents have not made up their mind. Those are people who sit on the line looking objectively at each person.

The Tea Party folks are conservative folks and their events are nothing like an Occupy Wall Street event. No one has ever been arrested at a Tea Party event. Their events are arranged ahead of time and carefully coordinated with the municipality. All orders by the city and law enforcement are obeyed. When you go to one of their events, its like something you can take your kids to...on the other hand an OWS event is the exact polar opposite of the Tea Party...almost like an evil rogue twin brother.

So the independent who is 30/40 years old, employed, married and has kids is going to have a choice between the Republicans (Tea Party) which have events they can take their kids to or the Democrats (Occupy) where it might be child endangerment to take their kids to one of the events.

I believe the OWS protests will galvanize the Republicans and swing the Independents to the GOP side. They will logic that Mitt Romney isnt so bad after all. The Democrats will be split. Some will vote for Romney, most will vote for Obama and then there will be those who will be too frustrated to vote for anyone.

I do not believe OWS will have the effect they desire. I suspect they will come up with even larger and more obnoxious protest events which will have the exact opposite effect they intend. It will end badly for them eventually.
