It seems the common theme with OWS is to war against city hall and the police. Is that what this is all about?
Cops are only doing their job.
Leave the NYPD alone. Its not respectful nor tasteful or classy to go around antagonizing some beat cops.
police also fall under the 99% and are just doing their jobs. the OWS movement is full of irony. they criticize the 1%, yet they harm their own 99%. Local businesses, commuters, and even their local government, whom also fall under the 99%. since the 1% is defined as those whom make over a 1 million a year.
Well said.
OMG, Occupiers threatening school children!

Those fighting the cops should be very very careful. Police are trained from day one that if they begin to lose a fight they are to resort to deadly force.
It's my best guess that the majority of Occupiers bear no ill will towards law enforcement, and recognize that officers are only doing their jobs -- and, likewise, that the majority of officers appreciate the Occupiers' right to lawfully assemble and protest.
At the same time, a tacky minority of protesters intent on antagonizing, even attacking, law enforcement in the name of "fighting the man," is bound to exist. And so is a minority of officers perfectly happy to use excess force on protesters under the guise of "doing their duty".
Margins are called that for a reason -- they do not come close to representing the whole.
How come all over this website is negative talk about Bloomberg and the NYPD. OWS is really about anarchy and going against the NYPD. Thats not cool.
OWS Circus is Over but Nobody Told The Carnies....
At least 245 people were arrested over the course of Thursday, police spokesmen said. That includes 64 arrested -- most all wearing "99% t-shirts" -- during a sit-in early in the evening on Centre Street, near Foley Square.
Five police officers were injured when a liquid was thrown on their faces during confrontations with with protesters, Kelly said. The officers felt burning in their faces, but were able to wash off the unknown substance at a nearby hospital.
In addition, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said a 24-year-old police officer was injured when a star-shaped glass object was thrown at him. Speaking from Bellevue Hospital Center, he said "some protesters today deliberately pursued violence."
Can you give us exact details of all the times NYPD injured or treated anyone in a wrongful way? If they did treat someone in a wrongful way then where are the lawsuits?
I haven't noticed that being a problem. except when they've broken people's faces open. Which has happened.
it's a limited few that act this way with the police. much as it's a minority of police brutalizing protesters.
No, it's what the battle has become. This is really about getting money out of politics.
Yeah, let's fight the cops for giving so much of their money to the political cronies in NY so that they can have a job and risk their lives again if the enemy strikes again like it did on 911 OR like your are doing today.
It just seems so low and sleezy to be messing around with a bunch of beat cops.
Leave them alone! You are the ones breaking laws. What, you didnt think taking over a public space, doing drugs and being a public nuisance wasnt breaking the law?
because they break the laws while containing/controlling protests
Read- Alinsky rules for radicals.
Ask the Canadians who started all this.............
OWsers like all spoiled generation me cretins absolutely despise authority of any kind.
They wouldn't be doing any of this if it was against the Federal Government. They will do all this violence only against local government.
