There was a shooting and a reporter was on the scene to do their job which is report the news. Its very common for reporters to cover crime stories in a major story. The reporter is then assaulted by Occupiers.

I guess when it comes to freedom of the press and freedom of speech Occupiers only support it when its in their favor. So my question is why should we follow an Occupiers advice when they are against freedom of speech and press? Earlier today I saw Bachman's speech get interupted as a bunch of Occupiers wanted to squelch her freedom of speech.

well i don't know a hundred percent but it has something to do with the media being corporate sponsored and sometimes putting a bad spin on things!
So is that your excuse to stop the press from reporting? I take it if Occupiers got their way and ran society then things we enjoy now like a free press would be abolished. Its clear to me that Occupiers are not for freedom.
as of right now I don't hear them being in congress or anything the way they feel is how they feel. I am quite sure every movement is different. And respect goes both ways the press can be kind of *ssholes sometimes to.
yeah media making us look like smelly hippies the same way they made tea party look like racists. No violence though! hold up a sheet or a blanket, don't hit the reporter.
Why should the press be blocked from filming? Whatever is happening the press should be allowed free access good or bad. Our current society is one where we air these things and allow it to be seen. Only in a third world regime do they forcefully stop reporters or block them with sheets and blankets.
Whatever is happening, let the press in and allow them to report...good or bad. Thats how a free society operates.
True, I take that back. I am strong against hitting the reporter and thought of a better option, but its not really an option. Free; we should mean it.
