Its ironic that an anti-capitalist movement actually spent $8000 on a domain name (http://www.occupywallst.net/) owned by some enterprising scumbag who profited from stealing the name and camping on it.
A simple variation of the name would have cost $15 .....
Smells funny.
I own the domain name occupy.biz. I am looking to sell it. if anyone has a serious offer, let me know via email at admin@occupy.biz
Domain name allocation needs to be reformed too.
Domain name prices should be allocated with quadratic function.
1 domain - 1$/year
2 domains - 4$/year
3 domains - 9$/year
4 domains - 16$/year
10 domains - 100$/year
20 domains - 400$/year
30 domains - 900$/year
What was wrong with "http://www.occupywallst.org"?
I checked some simple variations and most of them were available. Very strange that "branding" is such a powerful motivator here ....
This domain is owned and operated by Adbusters, a Canadian company. OWS wanted their own domain.
To show the drummers that they could spend 8k if they wanted to.
I threw my pearls in with the pigs
..and got the t-shirt
