Forum Post: Who brainwashed the police??

Police are as big a victim of Wall Street, big banking, and a corrupt Wahington as anyone. Why are they fighting for the very people who are sticking it to them? Why don't they take off their badges and join the protestors instead of fighting them?

becaused just like the military they are brainwashed to respect the badge and their codes above all. officers in more larger areas are selected based off profiling despite what anyone believes. no radicals allowed, just pure brainwashed muscle. why do you think they think they are protecting? they have no clue its just another day at work for them and they are getting paid. once again another perfect example of how money is white collar slavery. police have been brainwashed to believe everyone is a suspect. they are the law according to themselves and really they are just under paid private body guards to unknowingly control people and instill fear. even though most of them probably dont know any real laws. they are trained to react not to think. they are trained to obey without question just like the military. these brainwashing technichniques have be published by the government in many documents and private sector literature for decades even centuries. they are flesh and blood robots.

Yes, when the cars get overturned and torched, store windows broken and stores looted, that is when The Great One, The Great Orator (only with the help of a tele-prompter) Barry Hussein Obama, will go on national tv and call for peace in the streets. And then there will be peace in the streets and we can all enjoy another 4 years of 9% plus unemployment, It's all going according to plan.

They really don't like when you link arms and hurl yourselves at them in human chains.

cause their job is to follow orders not morals aka gestapo

If the police took off their badges and joined the protesters, they would all be fired from their high paying union jobs. They are not brainwashed, they just have common sense.

[-] 1 points by JeffCallahan (216) 13 years ago

Common sense? Does it make sense to protect a system that is currently exploiting you and your family?

That's not common sense, that's selfishness. Common sense implies you care for the common good.

A lot of these officers probably have families.

They're just as afraid of making a living as you or me.

However, I do hope that they would join the protests. But I understand why they don't

ok, you convinced me. On Monday, I am going to quit my job so that I can no longer support my family. Then I am going to hire a shyster lawyer to get me on Social Security Disability due to a mental illness (quiting my job so I can be part of the 99% which I already am, by the way). Once the government checks start rolling in, i will be on easy street. Thanks for making me see the light.

You are missing the point. This is a chance to entirely change the system so that it is equitable for everyone, and so that everyone could have an equal say in overall economic decision-making. If you see yourself as a member of the 99% then why are you lambasting them? Are you merely displeased with their methods? The protesters aren't the only facet of this movement, as is seen in the HUGE and growing world-wide online presence. This discussion we are having right here, is part of the movement, just like any other conversation about OWS.

it is obvious that anyone who is making a living within the system and feels for these issues is between a rock and a hard place. It takes outreach, respect, and discussion to come to a consensus. The protest as a whole is not advocating that people leave their jobs immediately, and run out into the streets. People need to voice their dissent through whatever means they personally have.
