I've been hanging out here for two weeks now, unable to participate in the actual Wall St. Protests. I've been witness to a lot of legitimate complaints and a lot of crack pot lunatic theories, and wishful thinking.

  • Who can forget the all white Occupy Atlanta group denying a black member of congress a right to speak?

  • Who can forget Michael Moore delcaring the movement to be the first and best step towards an end to the capitalism that made him so fat?

  • Who hasn't heard the many complaints that the movement has no clear message, and the fears that a clear message would never arrive.

Up till now, the only official voice of the movement has been this forum, and we have been left to speculate as to what the words "Global Revolution" really mean. Most of you are probably as curious as I am to know what will come out of all this. What will be our final demands and who will get to decide them? Who will get to hold the megaphone chanting the words we all repeat?

Now, after many weeks, a leader arises speaking, if not for the movement, at least for the organizers of the movement. So what do we know? Outside of the usual no bigotry, personal threats, off topic posts, spamming, trolling, or posting of personal information rules every other forum has, we also have some rules that tell us about the leadership of the movement.

  1. It is indeed based out of Quebec Canada, which gives credence to it's AdBusters roots

  2. It does not want people to in politics or political discussions within the boundaries of the current electoral system, especially if your political leanings lean towards Dr. Ron PauI

  3. It does not want to appear fringe, Anti-Jew, or Anti-Zionist. This is based on the refusal to allow the stylings of Lyndon LaRouche, David Duke, Alex Jones, or David Icke to be posted, as well as the no fascist rule, and the inability of people from Arab states to correctly pin their location in their profile.

  4. Any disparaging of communism or socialism is prohibited, as this could be construed as "Red Scare".

  5. The moderators reserve the right to remove any other post for any reason if they deem it to be a "lie". This includes allegations about the financing and/or leadership of the movement which may or may not be true, but also any other "lie".

In my opinion, this is a good thing. The sooner we clearly define who we are, and what we want, the sooner we can see action taken on our demands.

The reason it is called Red Scare would be due to the fact it scares the hell out of anyone that has some brains.

The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or farms or mines of the nation;

The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation;

The right of every farmer to raise and sell his products at a return which will give him and his family a decent living;

The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad;

The right of every family to a decent home;

The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health;

The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment;

The right to a good education.

All of these rights spell security. And after this war is won we must be prepared to move forward, in the implementation of these rights, to new goals of human happiness and well-being.

America's own rightful place in the world depends in large part upon how fully these and similar rights have been carried into practice for all our citizens.

For unless there is security here at home there cannot be lasting peace in the world.

There's a lot of old hard line left organizations swirling in and out of the OWS. One of them has "lent" it's 501C status in exchange for 7% of the donations proceeds.

The media has been excellent at not investigating to deeply into these things. we should appreciate the help we are receiving from the people with the experience we lack.
