Forum Post: Which politicians are on our side & against corruption?

I've heard Herman Cain's misunderstanding of the OWS demonstrations as being jealous of the successful (http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/10/05/1023134/-Herman-Cain-to-Jobless:-Its-Your-Fault!-+-OWS-Protests-Organized-by-Obama-but-I-have-no-facts-).
Now i'd like to know which politicians do understand what we're about and are willing to work with and for us, to represent us as they've been elected to do. Who is on our side?

I fear that most, if not all, politicians are corrupt upon declaring their candidacy, due to financial backing of their supporters. Are there any candidates coming from OWS to champion their cause?

I am also skeptical of any promises made by politicians in order to get into office, because they can easily be broken once sworn in. Is there any method to ensure political responsibility? Perhaps some kind of signed legal promise with the consequence of impeachment?

Thank you for your civil discourse on this topic. -J

How the hell can you possibly ask "which politicians do understand what we're about" when no one in the WORLD can figure out what you all WANT! Jeez.....

Truth. I cant find anything relative to "demands" on this or the GA site, the closest thing being grievances: http://nycga.cc/2011/09/30/declaration-of-the-occupation-of-new-york-city/

Fmr. Congressman and Governor Buddy Roemer is the only one speaking to the cancer of money in our elections. We must unite on this issue while we have the chance. We all can agree on this one and make it happen. Together we stand. We can argue later.

Gov. Buddy Roemer. The Rachel Maddow show did a piece on him tonight!! He's been speaking out in support of OWS for over a week. Also came down to Z park today to talk to protestors and hear their stories. No speech. http://m.cbsnews.com/blogsstorysynopsis.rbml?feed_id=71&catid=20118163&videofeed=null

Though I disagree with the OWS movement in general, yours is one of the few posts I've seen here that raises an issue of great importance to us all... who's watching the watchers ?

I'm afraid we are starting to see the emergence of a fatal flow in the Constitution. The folks in Congress were supposed to be Citizen/Servants who sacrificed their personal time to attend one or two big meetings a year. Congress has now become a life-time career, and our representatives spend more time trying to get elected than they do trying to do what's right. They pander to the Tea Party, to their financial backers, and, yes, they'll soon pander to the OWC folks as well. They don't care, they just want to be re-elected.

Fixing the problem will require the entire Nation rise up. As it stands, we're happily fighting each other, Liberal vs. Conservative, Tea Party vs. OWC, and they happy to see it; it means we're buying into the game.

Rather than fight each other we need the Tea Party and the OWC movement to join forces and demand reform of the corrupt political system. We need to throw ALL of them out and install Citizen/Servants who will work to pass Constitutional Amendments reforming the system.

Some of my favorites....

1) "War" is hereby defined as any action by any office of the Government that results in the killing of people without Due Process of Law. Any act of War thus defined must be approved by Congress as set forth in the Constitution.

2) Members of the House of Representatives shall be selected randomly from the population of each district and shall serve for no more than 2 years. While serving, selected members shall be compensated an income not to exceed the average income for a family of similar size throughout the Nation plus documented expenses associated with travel while serving as a member.

3) The term of Senator shall be limited to no more than two terms total.

4) Elections for the office of President and Senate shall be funded by the Treasury in an amount determined by the House of Representatives.

5) No organization using the Public Airwaves shall promote in any way, compensated or uncompensated, one or another candidate for National Elective Office. Furthermore, said organizations shall, in Elective years, provide 100 hours of Public Service time for communication of Political Debate by Candidates for National Elective Office recognized by the House of Representatives.

6) The Budget of the Federal Government shall be balanced such that, over any 6 year time frame, the sum of revenues versus expenditures are equal.

7) Per the Equal Protection clause of the Constitution, taxes imposed on personal income, regardless of source, shall be equal for all Citizens in terms of the percentage of income paid. Corporations are legally Persons, and they shall pay equal tax, as a percentage of their income, and regardless of source, as set out above for Citizens. No law defining deductions, exemptions, credits, or in any way modifying the tax obligations defined above in order to benefit one party or another shall be introduced, voted upon, or passed by any branch of Government.

All but the first one are designed to limit the corruption in our political system. That first one is just a recent favorite inspired by the number of conflicts we get involved in without calling them "War" and putting them to the vote like we're supposed to !

Yes, there are candidates, and although I'm all in favor of taking down today's ineffective and inefficient Top 10% Management Group of Business & Government, there's only one way to do it – by fighting bankers as bankers ourselves. Consequently, I have posted a 1-page Summary of the Strategic Legal Policies, Organizational Operating Structures, and Tactical Investment Procedures necessary to do this at:

"Politicians are on our side and against corruption"

Do you understand that corruption is, by definition, political? Do you understand that the politicians who are "supporting" this movement for political gain are among the most corrupt people on the planet?

Was it really your intent to link to a leftist website assault on a presidential candidate in protection of Barack Obama, the guy with fortune 500 ceo Jeff Immelt on his jobs council, a guy who outsources most of his jobs and pays no Federal Income tax?

found one, he seems alligned with some OWS sentiment, but not 100% strictly for everything OWS is about, which is as of yet, unclear: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1H79qafgO4
