It seems to me more and more lately that 51% of the population controlling 49% of the population isn't the best form of government anymore. Does it even say anywhere in the constitution that we are to be a democracy? What's the old saying..."Democracy is like 2 wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner". Not really sure I like this anymore. What else can we try?
What it does begin with is...We the people of the United States in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare and secure the blessings for ourselves and our prosperity, do ordain and establish this constitution of the United States of America.
we have 'representational democracy' also can be defined as 'democratic republic' China and USSR are republics, but not democratic. the wolves/sheep metaphor is incorrect metaphor for democracy. democracy works thru consensus and compromise in method to reach goals. certainly democracy can have problems , which is why we have presidents but corruption can and always does create disfunction even in the best conceived systems of governance.
But our fore fathers suggest that democracy is not a most favorable system. I think the metaphor for democracy is correct. Majority rules.

Who the hell told you this was a Democracy. It is a republic. That's why we get treated like like second class citizens. We're not really in charge. But then that's no secret.
OsiXs is the only other plan with a vision that I've found out there.
"WAKE UP PEOPLE!” - JOIN THE REVOLUTION There is a better way to fight back. Read “Common Sense 3.1” at ( http://www.revolution2.osixs.org ) – “entirely”
How else can I say this? "We Are Free!" http://WeAreFree.osixs.org "Spread the News"
No one. That's what I'm saying. It is not a Democracy. It is a Republic. I agree.
It is both. It is a democratic republic:
republic |riˈpəblik|
noun
a state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives, and which has an elected or nominated president rather than a monarch.
You have no idea what 'second class treatment' is. Stop wallowing in self pity. Get real dude
