Forum Post: Where does it hurt? (you)

I saw it coming: I was the oldest employee. I was given a 25% pay decrease, when I didn't quit, I was fired, then offered part time work. Contested, (they had lots of claimants), and got UE benefits. This company trades low income housing tax credits to help 1% escape taxes. I have tax codes and greed to thank. Congress helps the poor, only if the poor spends it on the rich.

I'd like to hear what's up with you.

Just wondering what the point of getting an education is, mainly. It's a damn Ponzi scheme. Also, it's sad to walk outside and see the world as so simple and pretend that debt doesn't exist, yet it does. I also wonder why we are following along the same paradigms of capitalism as before that has encouraged brutal competition among people. I just don't really think that the founders of our economy really knew how bad things could get down the line. Other than that, I have it pretty good, I guess. Overall, I mainly wish that our economy would shrink in some way so that we could have simple, interesting, meaningful lives. That's all, just an overall sense of malaise.

I admit that there was a certain amount of luck that I was able to get my education when I could turn it into a modest living.

But in addition, I have used it in so many ways I could never have imagined, and as a result I've learned more, participated more, and it has enriched my life.

Best of luck to you!

I was fired by an educated rich young man, who I would not trade places with, even with his view of Utah. He could always find a cheaper worker, and was investing in city slums. I wish you a bright future, and glad you've got it pretty good. Many share your hopes. 99% have a feeling of malaise.

Self-employed artist (check the profile). Highly doubt if they were one of the 1%ers.

I would think that victim is not a description we enjoy, but if the shoe fits. The only ones who know poverty are those who have lived it. Wall Street has victimized those that will trust their hype about helping the wage earners, I invested in myself, but not having healthcare was a risk. I took my chances on a job and it worked until they knew labor was dirt cheap. (Preaching to the choir)

I have a moblie home, and old truck paid for, growing a garden, play some music, recycle metal, buy from thrift stores. I'd go back into business if they'd let me shoot the competition. :) , or if I was 22 again. It's true, it's a jungle out there. Monopolies come in various sizes. Enough about me, there's beer in the fridge. I pretended to be rich to make sales pitches. My credit never let me get into much debt. Thanks.
