Why don't you go start one?
The most regrettable thing that occurred with the Chrysler and GM bailouts were that UCC Article 9 Secured Creditors were treated as if they were "bond holders",-- unsecured creditors. World wide there is simply to much excess automobile capacity. Chrysler was bailed out once in the '80's. I would have favored generous unemployment benefits for the Chrysler workers and several years of retraining and programs for re-emplloyment. The 3rd time Chrysler fails will probably be its last because Americans now have "bail out" fatigue. Government always does a poor job of picking winners and loosers. The pragmatic explanation of why Chrysler was bailed out lies probably in some of its US Army contracts for the A-1 Abrams tank.
I don't know. They should be here.. government ownership of any private company is blasphemy
Not only did they get bailed out and havent repaid it, they also screwed the original bond holders.
What part of the Bible says it is a blasphemy?
I defined it as blasphemy in terms of true free market principles, and Gasp, Capitalism.
I fervently believe in a clear separation of church and state, though that is off-topic
"free market principles"? Is that a new kind of religion? A new church? "The Holy Church Of the Free Markets"?
you're a riot. Offer something worthwhile to converse upon... you're not helping the cause
I shit on the "free market principles". This is not my religion.
Good for you. You will fall to the wayside... the free market will prevail
The free markets are a miserable fail. The 2007 credit cruch is the proof. The 2008 crisis is the proof. Lehman Brothers is the proof. The housing market meltdown is the proof. The recession is the proof. Free markets are not sacred. They were NEVER sacred through the history of mankind.
uneducated banter. Ignorance is not bliss, my friend
Yes, ignorance is not bliss. But you, the "free market fundamentalists" keep yourselves ignorant about the obvious truth that was taught to the world during the 2007-2008 crisis that culminated with the bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers and the meltdown of the stock exchange. You keep pretending that the crisis started in 2009, with "socialist"(sic) Obama in office. A ridiculous spin of reality.
What is a better system?
I don't know. Do you have a magical answer? A cake recipe? I don't.
You can live in Cuba or Argentina if u like
Living in Argentina is not a bad idea. Everyone there can get free higher education of good quality. There are free elections every 4 years, and the press is free.
Free elections are u serious? So of your ideas really scare me
Yes, free elections. With dozens of political parties, not just two like in the USA. What do you think you know about Argentina?
