1% starts @ $347K and up. So you eliminate the 1% and will have a new 1% of people starting @ say $250K - $346K and so on until you've eliminated everyone. Read Animal Farm or watch the movie. There will always be a 1%

There will always be a 1% duh.

That 1% doesn't have to own as much of the dough % as they do now, though.

how much should they own?

No not always. Between despots there is a brief moment of absolute freedom. Read Animal Farm. But if you insist on evoking George Orwell you should also read "1984" which deals very much with the surveillance/media state we have today. I know I am probably committing thought crime right now. For that matter an absolutely different Orwell comes out when he discusses his time in the Spanish civil war fighting amongst the anarchists and the socialists in his book "Homage to Catalonia" This piece is best because it describes the on the ground emotions and logistics - this book is likely the best if you are looking for a analogy. This book also is said to be greatly autobiographical. So I think you do have a good point that there is much that can be related when comparing the fictional literature of George Orwell to the current world crisis as well as the occupy movement. Thank you for that astute observation. ;)

Read other posts. 9 to 1 CEO/employee pay ratio in 1920's vs 400+ to 1 today... Well THERE'S yer problem! I've read Atlas Shrugged too and actually agree with AR a lot. No one here is bitching about Steve Jobs bank account they're bitching about JIM TAGGERT's!

no argument, but that limit does have to be reduced so every gets by ceo's making 18million a year has to change that money has to go to jobs

[-] 0 points by figero (661) 13 years ago

what has that got to do with you?

[-] 1 points by gestopomilly (497) 13 years ago

a job? its a requirement of survival. you dont have a job?

[-] 0 points by figero (661) 13 years ago

I have a great job. what does a ceo making 18M have to do with you having a job or not?

[-] 1 points by gestopomilly (497) 13 years ago

because.. if anything happens to your ceo to where he may lose money.. you will not have your great job any longer. you see.. the ceo will eliminate your job in order to maintain that 18 million. that is what your (any)job has to do with the ceo

then you need to change your message from 1% to 0.0001%

yea - too bad it doesnt work that way.
