I am seeing numerous liberal posters throwing out insults against conservatives or conservatives at liberals.
Yeah, flamewars get your posts and comments noticed... but it goes totally against the entire idea of 99%.
IF WE WANT TO CHANGE THINGS, WE NEED TO CONCENTRATE ON ITEMS THAT EVERYONE CAN AGREE ON... but the liberals AND the conservatives!
The moment you push out one side of the 99%, you push the movement towards failure.
We've got something to agree on. Just like how there were arguments determining that, now there are arguments determining the approach to take. There will always be arguments. Embrace them because the strong answers are left standing.
Looking at the forum, I see good ideas left to rot while insane, unrealistic, diffuse ones gather tons of attention.
However, what is worse is the insults. We need to build cohesion and keep this from becoming the liberal version of the Tea Party. If we want reform to succeed, we need goals that realistic, achievable, measurable, AND supported by the majority of Americans... not just the majority of liberals OR conservatives.
We need education and civil debate/discussions.
Those who resort to insults have already proven their ideas are worthless. If your ideas can't do the talking, then neither should you.
It seems the big problem here is between those who want more government and those who want less government. Have a whack at my argument on my thread: http://occupywallst.org/forum/why-socialism-cannot-save-us-from-a-ws-occupant/#comment-49742
lol, you haven't been keeping on your thread's comments. I already had.
"Socialism obviously isn't the answer because America is divided on it. If 50% of the people are against it, it is not going to be accepted and the movement will fail. I think we need to find ways and means to check and balance the power of money's influence in our government. For starters, we need to roll-back some of the protectionist regulations/decisions that have been added, like the Supreme Court rulings that corporations and special interests can donate unlimited amounts to political campaigns."
Woops! Didn't pay attention to the names! Sorry man.
