cause i really dont believe that its around 8-9%. what do you guys think
They don't count students, housewives, or the disabled.
Im guessing around 10%, give or take. Behind the UE rate is the labor participatoin rate, which is very disturbing...

That's a disturbing graph. How does one take the official unemployment rate, factor in the labor participation rate, and arrive at a more accurate number?
I've also wondered about the unemployed that are involved in the black markets. They're technically unemployed, yet do infuse money back into the economy. I wonder how that skews the numbers, if at all.
I honestly have no idea. I just know that whatever they tell us, chances are its a lie :)
Like minds think alike.
depends on the area but i would say anywhere from 12-15%
those pole are only those who are seeking employment not those who are unemployed
I'd guess it's probably double. What doesn't enter into their figures is the amount of people that aren't receiving unemployment benefits but are also unemployed (like me).
Here in California I think it's still around 12%.

but, pay close attention to the total employed and the total non-agriculture employed......the numbers are way down from 2007......with about 6 million job loses since then.....why 2007? that is when democrats took over congress, and they held both houses until jan 2011, and still hold the congress......Republicans held both houses from Jan 95-Jan 07.....
