A poster suggested that churches should be taxed, and that got me thinking about whether other non-profit groups like OWS should be taxed also, which got me to thinking about contributions....
If 40% of the population is under 18, that leaves 180 million people in the US 18 and older. If we are the 99%, then that is 178 million. If 10% of the 99% donate money, and the average is $20 per donation, that is $350 million dollars. What is OWS doing with all that money?
I don't think I'm too conservative in the 10% donation rate, since OWS is a big proponent of sharing to help others.
That got me thinking about financial accountability. How are OWS donations reported? What independent body oversees the finances since there is the potential for handling a lot of money? Even at 1%, the amount is 35 Million dollars. Beeeg money.
You are just making up numbers. This is silly.
What sounds and smells and feels like a troll?
Go down to a local occupy group and ask the general assembly how they're handling the donations.
I doubt any group has anything near 1 million yet. I heard a dollar figure for nyc that was far less than that, but I'll let you do your own research.
Wildly exaggerated speculation. Don't you want the big corporations to pay their Billions?

Very much to the point, I am amased at how Occupy works. Would like to have your input on the movement to understaqnd it better, there is a question on financial accountability in it. I am asking you to answer 10 questions and I am happy to share results if you are interested. Please, take some time for it: Thank you! http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Q3NF7QB
