I submit that Greed is the root of all evil...to covet possessions in excess of the basic needs of life, and to persue wealth and the acquisition of wealth, property, bobbles, out of sheer egotistical self-aggrandizement...along which also is the vice of Pride, evident in every ambitious persuit of Fame and Fortune...together these constitute the heart of the Beast ravaging the world for slavery.
Greed desires and persues what it does not need and hordes wealth (which is stored opportunity), depriving others of their right to the commons (resources) in their simple persuit to satisfy their own needs. Greedy is the man who is not content to have his bushel of apples from the orchard (the commons), to meet their needs (there is more than enough resources for everyone in the world to have their needs met, and starvation/homelessness/disease is the immediate result of Greed), but forms alliances to cordon off the orchard from all others, converting apples to currency (gold) and storing it in their cellars (banks) for use as extortion of further access to more of the commons (legislative theft).
Each rich person that hordes more wealth than is necessary for a basic, healthy existence, is intensively more responsible for the pain and deprivation and starvation and avoidable death of their fellow human beings in direct proportion to their increased hording...the wealthier, the guiltier of crime against humanity. Yes, this IS class warfare...and the majority had better soon realize who their pathocratic enemy is before it's too late, and Unite in their effort to strike at the heart of the Beast.
The surest attack upon this Beast, and the most immediate means of attack and sustained attack for the People of the Globe upon the powers of this Beast is...Boycott...Boycott of every, every, every Corporate sponsored goods or services...including Entertainment and those who ally themselves (movie/sports stars) with this Beast in the promotion of their goods and services.
Every athlete and every movie entertainment personality that aligns themselves with the Beast should be identified as a colluder in the despoiling of the People and Boycotted as well...boycott their movies...boycott their events, boycott the products and services that they shill...and together, everywhere, everyone that cares about our Humanity, should boycott ALL goods and services offered by the Corporate Beast.
Who is greedy? Those who work for & pursue their dreams or those who are jealous and want to confiscate the earnings of others?
"Greed" is a "relevant term". Meaning my definition of my "excessive wants and needs" may differ then your definition of your "excessive wants and needs" and Duranduses definition of "Greed" is his meaning of "excessive wants and needs"
So, there you have it. How hard is that to understand that everyones wants and needs are different.
yes exactly. everyone who has more than you is greedy. Just like George Carlin said about driving. everyone driving slower than you is an idiot. everyone driving faster than you is a maniac!
Hording wealth is one symptom of Greed...which removes from the Commons that which represents Opportunity. Wealthy and successful people could, could be heroes...but their hording ways only demonstrate their coveteousness and moral depravity, and thus their worthy pariah status among men. Their is NO justification for hording...except Greed...and America is the prime example of this godless, immoral concupiscence.
Starve the Beast!!
So what are you proposing?
You take any bible classes recently
a bible class? I've studied theology across sects among the monotheist at University, with no particular inclination to defend or promote any dogma...while I percieve certain Moral Threads running through them all...what may be called a Moral Voice common to them all, once the 'bibles' are stripped of their parochilisms.
Its just an interesting post. Although I have to say that I don't exactly agree with it.
I'm greedy because I like hookers and blow.
Only if you keep all the hookers and blow to yourself. Greed is a sin. Share your hookers and blow, hugh, it's the noble thing to do. Great username, by the way. One of the best I've seen lately. Hell, I'm gonna give you a 'like' just for that reason.
As Ben affleck in the boiler room says " Anybody who tells you money is the root of all evil doesn't fucking have any. "
Panty waiste Ben is your Oracle? I'll move him to the top of my Boycott list. Thanks.
Greed is never having to say you're sorry.

Right...same thing.
If you don't want a product don't buy it. If you want a product buy it. You sound as if you advocate greed police. what is this, fahrenheit 451?
no need to police...no need for targeting specific Corporations...just ANY Corporation, ALL Corporations. Starve them ALL...let God sort it out.
Support your local merchant...buy/think locally.
Starve the Beast!!
Good post, and generally on-target. My only contention is that it's impractical to boycott ALL corporations, but only at this time. Too many basic necessities are corporation produced presently. Specific boycotts in the beginning, then as more basic necessities begin to be produced locally, expand if necessary. I've been pushing the boycott idea since day one and what amazes me most is how many people think it's ineffective. My personal boycott list includes probably three dozen businesses, both big and small, local and multinational, all for very valid reasons. I didn't just pull names out of a hat. I've recently added Greyhound Bus and the supporters of SOPA to my list. and I agree 1000% with the idea of supporting local businesses. It needs to be the way of the future.
God has nothing to do with it - it is an "individual decision".
You do realize that a lot of small, local businesses are also corporations?

Owning something is not greed. Envy of what someone else owns is greed.
never said it was, and your comment is incoherent blather.
You asked a question, but you don't like the answers?
That makes you tyrannical. And judgemental.
Both sins in your Bible.

Dare I follow your link? I hear from the boards here that some have had nasty consequences from such trusting interest.
if you hover over the links you will see in your status bar it takes you to forum posts located on this server. Were I to employ malicious scripts - which I do not - I'm sure jart would have me banned in no time.
I do have a website - http://zendogblog.net which is mostly verse - all intended as advocacy of one kind or another - the use of malicious scripts or worse would simply discredit that effort.
I don't fault your caution, there are those around here intent on tanking this website, and the Occupy Movement as a whole.
I am not one of them.
Thanks...I'll check it out.
