Haven't seen many of their dumb postings tonight. Are they getting bored? Do they really give up that quick?

Administrators imposed a long delay between posts, and I'm guessing some think "my work here is done." Little do they know, the removal from the parks won't stop us, it's just the predictable end of the beginning. Now we move on to the mid-game.

gatekeepers holding us back

[-] 0 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 13 years ago

Which is?

[-] 0 points by Rico (3027) 13 years ago

I personally have an opinion regarding some things that might be done, but I'm not in the business of defining OWS strategy ;o) Whatever the mid-game strategy is, were now there.

I think there is more behind it than that.

occupywallstreet you don't have a clue how to debate with our government. our government is not scared of occupy. grow up. you people need some training, how about three years in the marine corp so you can grow some hair on your chest. you boys and girls need some real life experiences to fall back on. so far you haven't had to swim to the other side or die. life and death situations are much different from where you are today just ask any Egyptian.

the 1% checks are bouncing at Bank of A and JP craps and Well fargo etc :)

Only the most slimiest of trolls, the ones NOT payed that were and are doing their trolling of their own SICk accord, are left now :) Not too many of them, thank God :)

[-] 2 points by alfi (469) 13 years ago

No, they stopped paying them!!!

[-] 2 points by PeoplehaveDNA (305) 13 years ago

OMG do you want them back? What a sick abusive relationship you are in with the trolls. I am sick of the trolls on this website any break from them is truly a miracle. This website is trolled out. Time to get them off for good.

[-] 1 points by RatBawstard (1) 13 years ago

This site's admin started blocking IPs of users voicing dissenting opinion.

[-] 1 points by MIKEYD (2) 13 years ago

Thats been going on since day 1.

[-] 1 points by TrevorMnemonic (5827) 13 years ago

I chatted with an admin on a post she put up about it. She limited how many times you can post in a time span so trollz can't flood the page anymore. She was mid typing other changes and reasons when she had to leave because of the eviction last night.

[-] 2 points by TrevorMnemonic (5827) 13 years ago

She also suggested utilizing the downvote button because it will actually serve a purpose now. That's when she said she had to go. I'm assuming enough downvotes deletes a comment. So utilize that VOTE.

[-] 1 points by professorzed (308) from Hamilton, ON 13 years ago

Yes, I am thinking a lot of the trolls think "my work is done".

However, there is someone claiming to be the NYPD saying "There is no shame in losing to a superior force"

[-] 1 points by TalkingHead (101) 13 years ago

I hope they don't think they have lost. I hope we don't think we have lost. Remember we can still vote.

[-] 2 points by professorzed (308) from Hamilton, ON 13 years ago

Well I doubt it was the actual NYPD. Most likely someone using the name.

[-] 1 points by moediggity (646) from Houston, TX 13 years ago

The paychecks haven't cleared.

[-] 1 points by ToddDunning (89) from Aliso Viejo, CA 13 years ago

Nah, we have to work.

[-] 1 points by TalkingHead (101) 13 years ago

So you're posting here when you should be working? I'm gonna tell...

Troll is such a negative term. I believe this probably contributes to a low self esteem factor thus making an individual tend to project out more negatively and behave grossly unbecoming. Could we but temper our dialogue? Maybe instead of "troll" we use "friend"? Instead of a mean spirited response we give positive re-enforcement.

These are simple things we as a global circle of humanity can do to strengthen the chain of love that binds us together.

[-] 2 points by TalkingHead (101) 13 years ago

By trolls I mean the purely nonconstructive, antagonistic posters that don't even try to meet you half-way, don't even want to open a dialog on a topic. The whole objective of their post is to lob a cheap insult, then move on. Have you tried to have a conversation with one of these folks? They are incredibly close minded.

[-] 0 points by progmarx (66) 13 years ago

I see and reach your point however,if we can but leave one word of positive re-enforcement within a small dialog to any one of our "friends" this will yield a bumper crop of good will and hope.

Just calling them "friend" could have a lasting effect upon even the most darkest of souls.

[-] 2 points by TalkingHead (101) 13 years ago

Point taken. They are friends, however misguided they are in their attacks of the cause. In the end, we will all end up on the same side.

[-] 0 points by Puzzlin (2898) 13 years ago

I have been taught to show respect for people. Calling people bad names is not only immature, it also shows a lack of respect. If you have a healthy self-esteem you do not allow others to treat you such humiliating or insulting way. Sure, we can let it roll off, and sometimes it really doesn't bother us as much. But. what if it does, and what if we are insulted by what someone calls us on one of these threads. Are we wrong? Are we immature and not them for feeling that way? Should we cuddle them to give positive reinforcement hoping to ease their anger?

If someone calls you a moron, progmarx, what do you do?

Your answer will indicate to me what kind person you are.

[-] -1 points by progmarx (66) 13 years ago

Thank you so much for that well thought out and intelligent response.

"If someone calls you a moron, progmarx, what do you do?"

I would feel bad for the individual who is lashing out with such negative ferocity.

I would reply: Friend, may we disagree but may we know we are still one in the global circle of humanity.

[-] 1 points by TalkingHead (101) 13 years ago

What is the point of "occupy"? Is it a civil disobedience movement like Gandhi used to orchestrate in India where people keep getting arrested and their heads busted doing something technically illegal until they accomplish their goal?

[-] 2 points by Rico (3027) 13 years ago

I'm TRYING to get people to move to something we can actually DO to effect change without alienating the 99% we supposedly represent in the process. See http://occupywallst.org/forum/occupy-mall-street-and-change-corporate-america/

[-] 2 points by TalkingHead (101) 13 years ago

I kind of like the Gandhi jail/police brutality thing the protesters got going on. Keeps the cause in the headlines.

[-] 1 points by Rico (3027) 13 years ago

OK, so we leave a few behind to get beaten while the others go do something useful. I volunteer to do something useful. Do you want to volunteer for a beating ? ;o)

[-] 3 points by TrevorMnemonic (5827) 13 years ago

OWS has been amazingly useful. It has captured the eye of the world and opened those eyes to problems in the united states. Step 1 has been achieved.

We need to occupy the government and elect officials to replace the corrupt. That needs to be our new plan while continually utilizing step 1 to keep our message in the public eye.

People need to find out when their corrupt congressmen is in town, if theirs is corrupt, luckily a few aren't but a majority are, and when they are the people need to occupy their front yard. We demand an end to CORRUPTION.

When the people govern the government, we will make all the changes. Instead of having a paid for puppet promising change and delivering war.

[-] 2 points by therising (6643) 13 years ago

Maybe soon it will be time for this mass protest using these tactics: http://occupywallst.org/forum/proposed-list-of-demands-please-help-editadd-so-th/

[-] 1 points by Fredastaire (-1) 13 years ago

You sir are captain Dumb Shit. Congratulations!

[-] 2 points by TalkingHead (101) 13 years ago

Naw, I'll pass, I'm a little too old for that. I haven't joined the protesters in person though I support their goals. That's probably why I get such a pleasure picking off trolls on this forum. I'm regret to say that will probably be the extent of my involvement in this thing. Not that there have been that many beatings anyway, they tend to get a little amplified on the news.

[-] 3 points by TrevorMnemonic (5827) 13 years ago

go on youtube. Any police brutality is too much brutality.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNHXuf6qJas

These students paid to go to school here. They have the right to occupy.

[-] 2 points by Rico (3027) 13 years ago

Interesting, that hair tactic doesn't look like it's in anger, it looks like it's a trained maneuver. I don't like it, but it does appear effective... it's a lot harder to resist and wrestle when someone's got control of your head.

Delicate ground here because I support these people, and don't like all this pushing and shoving, but the fact that these are paying students doesn't mean they have a aright to do anything other than attend classes while abiding by the laws of use. If I rent a car, for example, I don't get to smoke in it, enter races with it, use it to transport contraband across state borders, etc.

[-] -1 points by mandodod (144) 13 years ago

Last night at a guitar workshop I saw a friend who is a pilot. I asked her if she would like to occupy after class and she asked me "what is that all about anyway?" That pretty much sums it up. Many of you folks care but most do not. You are like PITA, no one cares about the zoo or fish farms. I do think it is good to protest but you need to protest stuff everyone cares about.

We are here.

[-] -1 points by HaraldRichard (0) 13 years ago

We're still here

[-] -1 points by gr58 (22) 13 years ago

The admins but a kind of ban on them. Their accounts still work and they can still post, but no one except the person who posted the comment can see it

[-] -2 points by RexDiamond (585) from Idabel, OK 13 years ago

I'll start a funny thread if someone wants me to. Do I have permission from the admin? I am not a troll, but it seems like you want them around.

[-] -3 points by Biker (-5) 13 years ago

Most of these trolls you are talking about were arrested yesterday while they were sleeping in the park. In fact there were no trolls but only fake trolls from some OWS. Anyway,we are losers now everything gone. I left this game (OWS) that I never win it.
