When I visited this site the other day, there was a list of demands and you could vote whether or not you wanted them to be a part of an official list.
I didn't really like the idea of having an "official list," but I very much enjoyed reading a list of clearly written, laid-out ideas. Where did all that go? I can't find it right now.
Also I think that could have been very much improved, it was pretty hard to navigate. It could have been just a system like digg, where the interesting articles/demands would get naturally pushed to the top.
Hmm, I have a reasonable idea of a system that could really help put things into focus and stimulate educated discussion about specific issues. My idea is kind of a combination of wikipedia's editing & standards with the digg/reddit voting system.
If I want to talk to someone about implementing that here, and maybe merging that colossal thread with it, where should I go?
The ONLY plan that will work is if local Representatives, I mean they will represent about 2 square miles, have to come home from a LOCAL county assembly to the GLARING eyes of his or her CONSTITUANTS, and explain how our TAX money is being spent. It is the ONLY way. If the Representative is not intimidated by our ideas and our expectations for how OUR tax money will be spent in our physical presence in our Local Assembly, they will never ever feel the need to give us what we demand: Health Care, Education, Social Security, Green Energy, and a War-Less Future. I think its called Democracy
It got replaced with a suggestions section.
The list is in our hearts and minds. It's safe there and when THEY start making offers to fix things we can check them off and keep score.
Mother of god, it's beyond ridiculous how badly that is organized. How is it supposed to be a reflection of what people want if nobody is going to read or contribute unless they have a ton of free time and patience?
