I can see their conflict myself. I guess to some of them its like putting the nail in your own coffin to go against the protesters.
You cannot control the police or any orders that they may receive. You can control you actions. As long as you maintain the moral high ground you got the ear of the world. To keep it be true to your non violent approach. Everyone is watching you keep our attention and our sympathy if not support be holding the moral high ground. Violent responses to the police will only get our indignation and criticism.
I can understand the officers being torn. However they do KNOW the First Amendment is the Peoples Right To Peacefully Assemble. This has to be Respected.
Yet apparently someone higher up is telling them to ignore the first amendment or to try to circumvent it. Police Officers have to eat. They are also exhausted. I think the state should toss in some troopers to help the city out and give the officers some relief.
We are trying to make it easier on them by being as peaceful as possible....
I agree. The J.P.Morgan grant tells them to ignore the 1st amendment. I do have a small amount of compassion for the cops. They're human too.I wouldn't want that job of trying to control the masses. Its got to be very stressful on the mind, body and soul.
