Forum Post: what does racism have to do with wall street?

Posted 13 years ago on Sept. 29, 2011, 6:06 p.m. EST by commiekiller2012 (39)
This content is user submitted and not an official statement

The reds are handing out leaflets to the unsuspecting masses. Their bannner says "take a stand against racism, socialistworker.org". These scoundrels are redder than red. I am not a racist, but what is the connection to the stock market?

everyone please, don't engage with commiekiller2012... he is clearly a troll... if he honestly wants to participate he should rethink his comments and educate himself... ignore him please. Let him start his own movement.

Only a Communist would try to censor my freedom of speech & dictate to you what he wants you to think.

[-] 1 points by GarnetMoon (424) 13 years ago

How did I dictate what you are to believe? You've got to be more convincing than that... I am not censoring your freedom of speech... Noam Chomsky is incorrectly called a holocaust denier because he defended Robert Faurisson's right to express his (Faurisson's) opinion which is that the holocaust did not happen... That is quite different. By the way, have we met? Did I tell you I was a communist? I am not, I am too much of a free-spirit and recognize that when I don't have a really firm grasp on some subject, I cannot go around pretending that I do. A real progressive is not afraid of Marxist ideology. He does not have to agree with it but he is not afraid of it. Your comments come off as being very fearful. Honestly commiekiller, please express your fears about communism. You are free to do that. Perhaps you can teach us something... But do so in an articulate manner without knee-jerk comments. I agree that usury should be outlawed and free enterprise is fine. But it is more complex than that and there are many reasons we are in this mess. Besides, if you feel so strongly, why don't you simply put forth some persuasive arguments? I am willing to bet that you and I probably agree on more than you may think. Instead of being dramatic about communists, Marxists and reds, (oh my!) create your own niche. The majority the people who are here are not fearful of communism anyway-- that is just a scapegoat. They are actually doing something productive and powerful. If you are here, then do something productive instead of inciting fear...

Freedom of speech in the United States is protected by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution and by many state constitutions and state and federal laws, with the exception of obscenity, defamation, incitement to riot, and fighting words,[1] as well as harassment, privileged communications, trade secrets, classified material, copyright, patents, military conduct, commercial speech such as advertising, and time, place and manner restrictions.

so much for free speech.

must be a lot of commies in the us government i guess.

I see your point.

Actually, I grew up in the 60's... and Racism and Sexism was a common tactic used to pull protesters into the Communist Party. To be quite blunt about it; that is exactly why Hillary Clinton is a card-carrying member of the Communist Party to this day. The largest contributor to her Presidential campaign was a Communist Chinese tycoon. However, that is not to say that the OWS is a bunch of Communist sympathizers. It is something to look out for... and I believe the OWS movement WILL be approached by such people. But, I also believe that you guys are smart enough to know what's what. Have a little faith in the process commiekiller2012. he he :o)

what are your views on this movement? I understand the frustration with people being off topic. I too am frustrated with that. But really... why not try and be productive and have your views heard and get people back on topic rather than just being confrontational. remember, you have a stake in this too

Hey npowell, just wanted to say that I love seeing you here so active. I believe you feel the need of the protest very well now. I remember your first posts with doubts and questions on the why of this movement and why there was no clear demand. Lets see it we get the Forum organised soon, so we can start real discussions.

I felt the need in the beginning and I still am fighting for organization, leadership, and consensus, but I am open-minded enough to consider that I may be wrong. The interview with Michael Moore and an article I read yesterday, as well as reading up on the Egypt revolution have somewhat shaken my "one demand" idea, and it has evolved into something more along the lines of a singular all encompassing message though I'm still trying to discover what exactly that might be. Thank you for the support and I look forward to some real debate on a more organized forum (hopefully soon).

I don't like to see innocent people with good intentions being used as tools for the Marxists.

[-] 1 points by gawdoftruth (3698) from Santa Barbara, CA 13 years ago

you can't SEE anything, your projecting all of that delusionally.

[-] 1 points by GarnetMoon (424) 13 years ago

Your comment shows a lot of ignorance... What's more, how can you speak of good intentions with a username like commiekiller.? You do not belong here with a name like that; a name which clearly stands in opposition to the core values of this movement. Think about it...

[-] 1 points by commiekiller2012 (39) 13 years ago

You feel that only reds should be entitled to freedom of speech? I am still waiting for the explanation of the "racism" connection.

[-] 1 points by GarnetMoon (424) 13 years ago

Freedom of speech is one thing...you can disagree without resorting to hate speech...

Communism everywhere? Explain, please.

[-] 1 points by gawdoftruth (3698) from Santa Barbara, CA 13 years ago

I'm still waiting for a link to your photo copy of this alleged document.

There are many different views being expressed here, but the only thing that people are all agreeing about is the income disparity in America and around the world is unjust. Now there are many different views about how to solve that problem, but rather than attempt to divide those doing what they can to be heard, why not state your own case and try, with the whole group, to come to an agreeable consensus?

[-] 1 points by commiekiller2012 (39) 13 years ago

I feel bad about the economy too. My only complaint is seeing communism everywhere.

[-] 1 points by npowell85 (249) from Montana City, Mt 13 years ago

I think you may be misinterpreting arguments for equality of opportunity and relief from depressing income disparity for arguments for communism. Or you are referencing the "demands" made by a few for federally owned housing and relief from student loan debt. Like I said, many different views, help us get beyond the self-interested shallow demands and get to something more meaningful. Give your input, but stop being confrontational please. People are here to make a change for everyone, please be respectful of your fellow Americans.

[-] 1 points by pariscommune (205) 13 years ago

then whats your proposition for a good economy?

[-] 1 points by commiekiller2012 (39) 13 years ago

Free enterprise & outlawing usury.

[-] 1 points by anonrez (237) 13 years ago

Have you considered changing your screen name? "commiekiller1952" seems more appropriate.

I am not the last of yesterday. I am the first of tomorrow. Lets oust the commies and win the masses.

[-] 1 points by anonrez (237) 13 years ago

LOL, "oust the commies"? Sure thing. Let's oust the Kaiser's men and the Redcoats too, while we're at it!

[-] 1 points by commiekiller2012 (39) 13 years ago

Communism is being shoved down these peoples throats. Clearly you're in on it.
