Tell them that protesting is an important job, and that if they are too lazy or don't have the guts to do it, at least stay out of the way of the people that do.

I tell them that I'm at MIT and doing quite well for myself, and that I'm more than likely to be able to find a job when I'm done. I also tell them that the whole idea that only bums and the unemployed will support us is simply "Fuck you, I got mine" and that it's that kind of attitude that got us into this mess in the first place.

[-] 2 points by Thinkdeer (250) 13 years ago

I usually act like I miss heard them, and say "thanks! we are doing a good job!"

[-] 2 points by jph (2652) 13 years ago

I tell them I own my own business, and have no desire to work for someone else. I choose when I work, and have free time to do what I want to and use it how I see fit.

However, I would just ignore anyone saying that here, as they are obviously mentally challenged and living in their parents basement listening to AM hate-radio and living in a dream world.

This is more then a job - this will provide better working condition for all of us that will have, or have a job.

[-] 1 points by JonoLith (467) 13 years ago

I just say "Do you have one that I could have?"

[-] 1 points by stevo (314) 13 years ago

NO...instead say..." Fuck you you fucking rich ass 1% mutli millionaire fascist pig, who sucks life out of the 99% of Americans, you homo hating, racist, bigot, fat ass mother fucker".

That will show em. Then..pull your pants down and moon em

tell them that real unemployment is around 20%. 56 million americans CANNOT find jobs. That 1 in 5 is NOT going to be able to find work.. because our Congress has wholesale exported them to countries that can still provide wage slave labor

[-] 1 points by larocks (414) from Lexington, KY 13 years ago

ask them if they are hiring. then tell them your salary requirements. also tell them you need health insurance and a good retirement plan. dont forget to tell them that some sort of profit shareing might help you work harder for the great corporation.

[-] 1 points by Febs (824) from Plymouth Meeting, PA 13 years ago

I say "I have one".

[-] 1 points by mandodod (144) 13 years ago

At least protest something important like war. And it is true, Wal-Mart is hiring.

[-] 1 points by bcon (9) 13 years ago

Excuse me, but Wal-mart is the reason we have this problem. The fact of the matter is that they pay their workers an unlivable wage, which leads to a heavier reliance on state and federal funds for their employees' health insurance and other necessities.

In fact, did you know every year 80 million dollars of California tax payer's dollars are spent on medicaid for Wal-mart employees ALONE?

Who's fault is that? The "lazy assholes" who can't get a real job? Or Wal-mart and other American monopolies that are killing our middle class through the 1%'s greed?

[-] 1 points by mandodod (144) 13 years ago

Sorry, Wal-Mart was never intended to be a full time job for workers. It is just a part time job for folks. It pays low because the folks there are not building rockets. People stocking stores or getting Christmas trees ready should only make $8.00 per hour. A lot of folks love Wal Mart. They hire many retired folks. Also because wages are so low, it allows them to sell food to low income folks at a much lower rate than the union stores. If you don't like it, just don't shop there. I love Wal Mart. I buy my car oil and food there at a very low cost. If it became union, the prices would be the same as everyone else.

More Wal Mart hating liberal bullshit LIES>

I have a job, I own a business and give jobs to other people, my advice is for those who don't have a job.

Wow it is scary to think you actually beleive this.

[-] 1 points by fredastaire (203) 13 years ago

actually it's a good opportunity to remind them that demand creates jobs, not middlemen.

[-] 0 points by Gileos (309) 13 years ago

What a joke.

[-] -1 points by USCitizenVoter (720) 13 years ago

Have you heard the joke about the guy that asked his dentist how much it will cost him to pull his tooth. The dentist replied $300. The patient then asked how long will it take. The dentist replied back about 15 minutes. The patient jumped out of the chair asking the dentist why he was charging him so much for only 15 minutes of work. The dentist smiled and replied back that he could take 3 hours to pull the tooth

Or you could just get a job instead of becoming aggressive because you feel guilty for leeching off the system.

[-] 1 points by fredastaire (203) 13 years ago

demand creates jobs, not middlemen.

[-] 0 points by l31sh0p (279) from Sand Fork, WV 13 years ago

Treat yourself like a brand, make yourself in demand.

[-] 1 points by fredastaire (203) 13 years ago

lol. http://richardkentgates.com fuck off. hows that.

[-] 0 points by l31sh0p (279) from Sand Fork, WV 13 years ago

Your argument was well devised, but I believe I struck a nerve.

Why should anyone want you? Make yourself wanted.

[-] 1 points by fredastaire (203) 13 years ago

lol. wow, you are self important. You tell me how much money I make?

[-] 0 points by l31sh0p (279) from Sand Fork, WV 13 years ago

You told me to fuck off and now you're mocking my self worth.

You need to refine your conversation skills.

[-] 1 points by fredastaire (203) 13 years ago

You are full of assumptions. I am not trying to convince you, rather embarrass you. To make you see how ridiculous your assumptions make you look.

[-] 1 points by Gileos (309) 13 years ago

And in doing all this you have succeeded in embarrasing yourself. Cool!

[-] 1 points by fredastaire (203) 13 years ago

don't you have class or something.

[-] 1 points by Gileos (309) 13 years ago

No. What do you mean by this?

[-] 0 points by l31sh0p (279) from Sand Fork, WV 13 years ago

Please explain to me what I have assumed, why it has made me look ridiculous, and how you have embarrassed me.

Because honestly I have no idea what you're talking about.

[-] 0 points by jayp74 (195) 13 years ago

Right on. As I've said in several of these posts, if you're not relevant, no one is going to hire you. If you don't add value or have any skills, what do people expect?

Ignore fredastaire. You can't argue with idiots.

[-] 0 points by l31sh0p (279) from Sand Fork, WV 13 years ago

Protesting while you're not working is an important job. Protesting about the lack of employment instead of actively seeking employment or bettering yourself as a person to acquire employment seems skewed.

[-] 1 points by onemoe (78) 13 years ago

You sound like someone who has a job. So, why are fucking up the country's productivity numbers by wasting your employers time and money posting here rather than working. I'd fire your ass if I caught you using my companies computers for this.

[-] 0 points by l31sh0p (279) from Sand Fork, WV 13 years ago

You sound like someone who doesn't have a job. So, why are you fucking up the country's productivity numbers by wasting your time posting here rather than finding a job. I'd kick you out of your mother's basement if I caught you using your time for this.

[-] 0 points by zorno (386) 13 years ago

The idea behind protesting is to change the system so that it creates rather than destroys jobs. In this sense, protesting is a way of looking for a job.

[-] -1 points by onepercentguy (294) 13 years ago

get a job

[-] 0 points by zorno (386) 13 years ago

I have a job.

[-] 1 points by Gileos (309) 13 years ago

Dont lie

[-] 0 points by zorno (386) 13 years ago

I could just as well accuse you of not having a job, and say that you lie when you tell me you do have one.

Actually, I'm a landlord, I own property in California, Nevada and Buenos Aires, Argentina. I also own an English school in Buenos Aires and employ 10 teachers as well as other staff.

[-] 1 points by Gileos (309) 13 years ago

I wouldnt care what you accuse me of and youd sound like an idiot in doing such because im not the one spouting off like a broken record.

[-] 0 points by zorno (386) 13 years ago

Yes, that is what I think of your accusations as well.

[-] 1 points by Gileos (309) 13 years ago

Except that im not the one posting i have a job over and over so it doesnt work.

[-] 0 points by zorno (386) 13 years ago

Well, if people can't understand when I tell them that I have a job, then unfortunately I have to tell them over and over that I do. If they would learn to pay attention better, I wouldn't have to do that.
