Forum Post: What do they want? They don't know.

CNN just interviewed 3 protestors. Don Lemon pressed them about what they want. "We're not sure, but we just want change". Now that's pretty stupid. How can you treat the symptom, without knowing the cause? Go home and get a job. Think out of the box. Start a company.

Campaign finance OVERHAUL! We have a 'one person one vote' system in our country, but thanks to our Supreme Court, corporations now have a vote, too. How do we take back control from the corporations? We eliminate their ability to contribute to campaigns!

There are those who boast that 'small government' is most beneficial 'for the people' - but that isn't true. Small government only benefits the people of Wall Street! Small government means less regulations and more power and control in the hands of corporations, let's be perfectly clear on that. We need to start using the phrase, "We are the Populous" in order to clarify our message!

I want...wars that can't be won, only SUSTAINED to stop. Look at the bankers records, in every war they loan money to both sides. Rockefeller made 200 million from World War I. I want people to understand that for every dollar loaned there's an interest rate and that these people have the power that they do by causing long wars, by keeping people in poverty so they have to struggle and no one has the time/energy to really stop and look at what's going on right in front of them.

I want to keep what happened in the early 1920s from happening again...the banks FALSE announcements that they're going bankrupt..and the grouping with smaller banks and ruining peoples mortgages. They've done this before!

I know what I want. I want fair and equal representation in government. 1% buys their representation and I want some of that. 99% are left with the crumbs. I don't want to start a company, not that there's anything wrong with that. But I'm just a Mom! And I want my voice heard by my government. My cause is democracy. Money speaks too loudly in our government. And it chokes out the voices of the 99%

No one has been able to get a clear and concise message from the protesters. It is a gathering of all sorts of diverse people that feel they have been wronged. No matter the leanings of the network, right or left, there has been a consistent lack of purpose expressed by anyone that has been interviewed.

Now, many will say that they don't need the media to make their point, that the media corrupt and part of the corporate oligarchy, but the media is where many of the people get their daily news and if the OWS crowd can't project a coherent message, they just look like a bunch of spoiled kids who have nothing better to do with their time than to protest and cause trouble.

lol @ nothing better to do with their time. That's also a sign that there need to be more jobs. BUT since they aren't they might as well change the country in their spare time.

I think it's good that they say 'i don't know' opposed to lying like the tea partiers who were advertised as "small business owners, etc" Any intelligent person knows that the true path to competence is realizing and understanding that you DON'T KNOW opposed to bullshitting (like you're doing right now throwing stones at people protesting on behalf of EVERYONE).

They could spend their time organizing to effect change in Washington and working through the system to make change rather than hanging out and being a general nuisance and effecting nothing.

The Tea party came together with simple ideas, worked through the systems and has begun to make necessary changes. You might not like the tea party because they are fiscally conservative and want to save the country from going bankrupt, but they have already begun to effect change.

And, BTW, they are not protesting on my behalf. They are protesting on their behalf. If tyey can come up with a simple coherent message and a plan to effect the change, then they might be protesting on my behalf, and, still, maybe not

I dislike the Tea Party? I don't dislike the Tea Party, however I do dislike people that read. Anyone that knows this countries history would understand that we're controlled by the federal reserve...The federal reserve which was actually created illegally in 1913. The Federal Reserve isn't even owned by bankers in this country...it's controlled by a group that has control over the majority of the banks in this world. Did you know that not only are our dollars not backed by gold...each dollar printed is considered LOANED to the country and comes with an interest rate...and we become so consumed in debt that we have to print more money...which if you're following along means MORE DEBT.

There's a serious issue that doesn't just affect the US, every major country has fallen pray to this set up. Unfortunately though the government passes these laws in it starts with the banking system. They have direct control over who gets put in office. start with reading about the panic of 1907 which is dead on the same situation as what we're going through now. From the banks pretending like they're about fail, to getting bail outs, faux mortgages...and those are the events that lead to us getting the federal reserve. I

Kiss wants to rock and roll all night and party every day.

So do I! It would be a ton more fun if the hippie chicks down here didn't look like Zorba and smell like Poncho Villa.

LOL! You watch TV news. Evidently you call that an education. Puppets targeting the ignorant for their billionaire bosses. You call that news?

None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free.

Pour some sugar on me, or whathaveyou. Would be a lot cooler if some of these hippy chicks were hotter.

Here's what we want: Term limits - 2 terms and gone, to limit corporations ability to corrupt. Line item veto - to allow a president to cut the pork. Force congress to be subject to the laws they pass. No waivers. Federal referendum.

[-] 1 points by schnitzlefritz (225) 13 years ago

Q. How many hipsters does it take to flush a toilet? A. You can’t touch that toilet, it’s art.

[-] 1 points by captaindoody (339) from Elizabethville, PA 13 years ago

Well the burly women hippies at the protest can handle the flushing. The men look a little pale and wimpy. Probably don't have to strength to depress the lever.

  1. A mansion for me, free, filled with 1000 servants
  2. A fleet of jets like that fat ugly bitch who owns ketchup
  3. Two Ferraris. I want mine with rims. The other one is for a nurse who asked for one on another thread.
  4. A bitchin' Camero with a loud stereo.
