In part 3 of interview, he spells out the implications of Patriot Act, and the policy preemption
We say we have freedom of speech, self determination, via elections, but really the corporations and main stream media just give us a modest choice.
I am sorry I was not aware of Gore Vidal's writings while he's was with us.
The above link should be viewed by all concerned voters.
The below link has some further insights by this blacklisted author, if you have time may be of interest.

Happy 2013
Awesome freakin interview.
Significantly, Vidal Gore was speaking of the corporatacracy, the duopoly, and the 1 percent http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/g/gore_vidal.html
Vidal wrote in the 1970s:
There is only one party in the United States, the Property Party ... and it has two right wings: Republican and Democrat. Republicans are a bit stupider, more rigid, more doctrinaire in their laissez-faire capitalism than the Democrats, who are cuter, prettier, a bit more corrupt — until recently ... and more willing than the Republicans to make small adjustments when the poor, the black, the anti-imperialists get out of hand. But, essentially, there is no difference between the two parties.[59]
Despite this, Vidal said "I think of myself as a conservative."[60]
Vidal contributed an article to The Nation in which he expressed support for Democratic Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich, citing him as "the most eloquent of the lot" and that Kucinich "is very much a favorite out there in the amber fields of grain".[69]

How come you didn't get pounded for being a republican troll for this post? Not too long ago, there were many folks claiming that anyone who says 'both parties are the same' was a corporate shill.
Good Post, I need to look into Gore more. Am sure he is not related to al gorezeera.
they are cousins
Vidal Gore criticizes the left like Chris Hedges, that they took a vacation, since when Clinton was president
glad you enjoyed it.
he was prolific author for many years. many video exist on You Tube, and he holds one's attention with interesting stories and knowledge.
I was against the duopoly back then. But with the election the pro lesser of two evils argument dominated. so some thought I was a republican or a divider, or something.
Thank you for post.
There was the real Nevada1
Good post
Our government can label you a threat, and deport you to a region without any government.
In part 3 below it is explained.
Vidal continues to outline how the Patriot Act can be construed to deny us citizenship without Habeus corpus, trial, in part 3 of interview
