Forum Post: We won't be coopted if we start our own party.

OWS did exactly what it was supposed to do, it got the whole country's (and now the world's) attention. Now that attention needs to be directed into something as positive and daring as the original protest. While friendly pundits claim that we've already won or that we are an interesting socio-political phenomenon, this is really just the beginning. Simply asking for the same things with a louder voice, hoping that the politicians who ignored us before will suddenly become our sincere leaders, is defeatist from the outset.

OWS's demands are not new, but they have a new energy, and unless we put real pressure on the two-party system, I'm afraid we're going to get rhetorical support from the Democrats, and little else. We have millions (billions?) of dedicated and sympathetic citizens the world over, and there is no reason we cannot participate in our democratic institutions directly. Otherwise, It's going to get cold, everyone is going to go home, and we'll have accomplished nothing.

The movement has already showed it has staying power, an incredibly powerful message, and the ability to raise funds. So here is the proposal:

  1. Set a definite end date for the occupation. Maybe in one month, maybe more or less. Even if we maintain a permanent occupation in Zuccoti Park, that cannot be the end goal of the movement.

  2. Set dates for founding and nominating conventions in every state, for local and national office, beginning early next year. This gives people all over the country (and beyond) something BIG to work on. It challenges the two-party system in the United State head on. It shows that we're serious, and we're not giving up.

Even historically huge protests (such as those against the Iraq War) can be easily ignored. The majority of our national law-makers are already part of the 1%. We live in a democracy right? It's time to take the power back.

Please help bring this the attention of the movement.

Exactly, however, the protests are useful, for in the media: "If it bleeds, it leads" -- and thus adds ever more people to the cause. Consequently, many more people will come to your side when you are proactive (for “new” Business & Government solutions), instead of reactive (against “old” Business & Government solutions), which is why what we most immediately need is a comprehensive “new” strategy that implements all our various socioeconomic demands at the same time, regardless of party, and although I'm all in favor of taking down today's ineffective and inefficient Top 10% Management System of Business & Government, there's only one way to do it – by fighting bankers as bankers ourselves; that is, using a Focused Direct Democracy organized according to our current Occupations & Generations. Consequently, I have posted a 1-page Summary of the Strategically Weighted Policies, Organizational Operating Structures, and Tactical Investment Procedures necessary to do this at:

because we need 100,000 “support clicks” at AmericansElect.org to support a Presidential Candidate -- such as any given political opportunist you'd like to draft -- in support of the above bank-focused platform.

Most importantly, remember, as cited in the first link, that as Bank Owner-Voters in your 1 of 48 "new" Business Investment Groups (or "new" Congressional Committees) you become the "new" Congress replacing the "old" Congress according to your current Occupation & Generation, called a Focused Direct Democracy.

Therefore, any Candidate (or Leader) therein, regardless of party, is a straw man, a puppet, just like today, for it's the STRATEGY – the sequence of steps – that the people organize themselves under, in Military Internet Formation of their Individual Purchasing & Group Investment Power, that's important. In this, sequence is key.

Why? Because there are Natural Social Laws – in mathematical sequence – that are just like Natural Physical Laws, such as the Law of Gravity. You must follow those Natural Social Laws or the result will be Injustice, War, etc.

The FIRST step in Natural Social Law is to CONTROL the Banks as Bank Owner-Voters. If you do not, you will inevitably be UNJUSTLY EXPLOITED by the Top 10% Management Group of Business & Government who have a Legitimate Profit Motive, just like you, to do so.

Consequently, you have no choice but to become Candidates (or Leaders) yourselves as Bank Owner-Voters according to your current Occupation & Generation.

So please JOIN the 2nd link so we can make our support clicks at AmericansElect.org when called for, at exactly the right time, by an e-mail from that group, in support of the above the bank-focused platform. If so, then you will see and feel how your goals can be accomplished within the above strategy as a “new” Candidate (or Leader) of your current Occupation & Generation.

I think forming a new third party narrowly around this dissatisfaction with Wall Street is the only way to keep it from being hijacked by the democrats and diluted, just as the tea party movement was by the republicans. A party like this doesn't necessarily have to have an entire platform with defined planks on issues that have nothing to do with Wall Street. We just need to agree on a handful of legislative actions that need to be taken, campaign as many candidates as we can, possibly win some seats in the House, and show how serious we are. Otherwise, serious action is not going to be taken in our two-party system. We might get one, maybe two acts passed in congress, but thats about as far as this momentum will take it before it sputters out.

It won't be long until the new party is corrupted. I think this idea is the opposite of what the movement stands for.

A third party will never win, however, if candidates borne of this movement can move within the democratic and repug party, then there's a great chance to clean the House and Senate of the corrupted incumbents.
