Yes, these are leaders. Let's back them in every way we can think of, and while we're at it, let's make some more of them.

Alan Grayson is a fucking bad ass!

I love that guy.

"What happened to the money?"

I love watching videos where Grayson grills Ben Bernanke.

..Corporations

[-] -2 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

Those are professional politicians. We need leaders outside the political spectrum. Anyone who makes it to DC doesnt have the balls to say what needs to be said, much less actually push to get it done.

OMG! This has to be the weirdest take on the whole issue of leadership yet! This comment has to be the most beautiful example of twisted logic I've seen here, and that is saying A LOT! My hat is off to you hchc!

First we were debating whether Elizabeth Warren should be asked to lead this movement, then we determined that we should have no leaders. Now that Elizabeth Warren actually holds high office, we decide that we should have leaders, but turn our back on her in favor of some (nonexistant) future leader - whose great advantage would be that they are still powerless! Of course if they actually do, theoretically, ever find themselves in positions of power we will turn our backs on them too, and find new powerless leaders for the sake of "purity!"

Congratulations, I think you inadvertantly sumbed up every weakness in our current thinking. Your post is - as Custer said in Little Big Man - "a perfect reverse barometer!" It advocates and advances every form of sloppy thinking that we must fight.

Thank You.

An example would be MLK.

Alan Grayson is legit. And he definitely goes outside the mold.

We do need leaders outside the system though. I agree with that. But we also need leaders on the inside too. Infiltrate the system.

[-] 1 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

Okay, I agree with this, TM! In fact, I think you sumbed up what we need very clearly here!

"We the people" ARE the leaders. Start by leading yourself and stop looking to the government to provide your education, medical care, retirement, and cell phone.... Those who give up liberty to gain security deserve neither and will lose both.

You know when I read a statement like "we the sheep have no leaders' it says a lot about the person who wrote those words.

Leadership is an individual thing - if you have a feeling that no one is leading for you you are in trouble not only fincially but mentally.

Do not be afraid .. to open your eyes.

Not a problem - don't be a sheep - people should have no need of leaders.

Water fountains should run with red wine too. You don't think the world would be a different place if Martin Luther King, JFK, Malcolm X hadn't been murdered?

[-] 0 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Certainly would be a different world. But that is not what we have. Nope we got what we got. Now if people can get behind supporting living by good ideals ( for ALL ) - then we won't have a single person being assassinated for saying what is right - nope - we will have a population living and supporting and promoting what is right.

..you must be getting tired /-:

Actually I was getting ready to take a nap. Advocating for "people" to get involved can be exhausting.

Do you have any suggestions ..

[-] 1 points by jrhirsch (4714) from Sun City, CA 11 years ago

Stand up on two legs like a human being. Don't vote for wolves. Don't buy the wolves products. Don't listen to the wolves lies.

[-] 0 points by FriendlyObserverB (1871) 11 years ago

..is that all ?

[-] 1 points by jrhirsch (4714) from Sun City, CA 11 years ago

And don't accept the wolves low wages.

[-] 0 points by FriendlyObserverB (1871) 11 years ago

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 12 years ago

You said, "We the sheep"

I thought you had a mouse in your pocket. Didja?

[-] -1 points by jrhirsch (4714) from Sun City, CA 12 years ago

The wolves ARE the leaders. 98.5% of the sheep just voted for them. Pull down their masks and take a close look at how long and sharp their teeth are.

[-] -2 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 11 years ago

Exactly.
