The high unemployment rate, and “Got My Mojo Workin” by Muddy Waters, inspired me to write this song in 2009, revised to also resonate with the Occupy Wall Street Movement.
It should be sung to the melody of Muddy’s song, and with the same energy and attitude. Pronounce “Lousiana” like Muddy does, “lose-iana.” The song’s lyrics are in “call and response” form. The lead sings the call.

The lead has the option of not singing the final 1 or 2 repetitions of “We need mo’ Jo(e)’s workin’,” -- to rest his voice, before belting out the next “call” lyrics.

The invariable “response”-- “Don’t call us, we’ll call you” -- in quotation marks -- is given by the 1st chorus.
The 2nd chorus – indented, is optional, depending on the availability of individuals to constitute a 2nd chorus to sing them.
The 2nd chorus echoes the lead’s singing of: “We need mo’ Jo(e)’s workin’” – heard as if from a distance. voices. It should be sung by at least 3 voices. More voices sing the 2nd chorus than the 1st, though the volume of the 2nd chorus should be less than that of the 1st chorus. This reflects the greater number of unemployed than potential employers, and the difficulty the jobless are having in being heard.)

Of course, "Mo" means "More," and "Jo(e)'s" refers to both Joe's and Jo's -- men and women.

I'm sure that 99.9% of musicians are amongst the 99%. This song has never been performed or recorded. It's my non-material donation to the Occupy Wall Street movement.

Sounds great (in my mind's ear). Someone should record this on youtube or myspace.
