Don't forget the smallpox infected blankets given by the U.S. government to the people who called this land their home before Europeans ever came ashore. This effort at racial genocide reminds us of Hitler's assault on Jews.

that's sick I don't care about the govt anymore we need Billy Jack as president remember This is your land this is my land from california to the NY island from the redwood forests to the gulf stream waters This Land Was Made For You And Me I don't recall the lyrics saying Obama Land

Yes, America should totally become a Bumi country! Sounds excellent. But since it doesn't work for the Malay in the Kampong, I don't think it will work for the US.

Instead of a President, how bout giving back the land that was stolen, and all the resources that came from that land.

An Indigenous president would have to be just as much of a sell out as the first biracial president had to become when he ran for the senate and the presidency. Either you get bought out by the special interests who will fund your campaign or you don't obtain high office.

The only way the Indigenous Nations could ever reclaim their lands is if the majority of the international community decided to recognize the sovereignty of the Indigenous Nations to the exclusion of the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Israel.

And we won. Why the hell would we let the lead us. We are the only country that would actually do that. Germany if they had won they would have killed a large amount of the U.S. citizens when they had gotten a hold of.

Didn't the 'native Americans' walk across from then Russia to now Alaska? They were immigrants like everyone else.

[-] 1 points by circlingheart (25) 12 years ago

So what's your point?

[-] 1 points by MyHeartSpits (448) 12 years ago

I like this =)

[-] 1 points by circlingheart (25) 12 years ago

I like this thought. A Native American Leadership Council, made up of Elders of the indigenous peoples. We should ask them to help us find our way Home.

Actually a very good idea. In fact, a 4th division of government like that concerned with survival and continuity might work well. I would approve that the Indigenous grandmothers elect them.

Interesting, I'm native and in the "affirmative action" state of which I am a citizen, a black person scores 10 points for being black. A native only scores 5 points. That's messed up.

[-] 1 points by jjuussttmmee (607) 12 years ago

not everyone values you like that, I thinks you gets extra "points"

[-] 1 points by FrogWithWings (1367) 12 years ago

My lineage goes back to the late 1500's and mine were there schooling and protecting the pilgrims. Muslims and Jews score the same 5 points.

We took the land away from the Indians because we could. I was born here so I guess I am a Native American. Vote for me and I'll make sure that dumbasses all move to a reservation. I'll draw a line from the Atlantic Ocean west, beginning at the Maryland border, then north, through Pennsylvania up the the Canadian border, then all you dumbasses can live up there in the cold ass weather and bake pies for a living. I'll make Foxwoods the capital and you can worship Chief Rubya Bootay over there at the casino.

[-] 1 points by realtv (13) 12 years ago

yes! the indigenous peoples of the world should have the last say !

[-] 1 points by friendlyopposition (574) 12 years ago

We should only have a voice if we are in our country of historic origin?

[-] 1 points by realtv (13) 12 years ago

nope, I didn't say that, I'm just saying that they should have the last say, not a direct say, but in any case they should be included and heard in any decision on the lands, if you do a small bit of research on indigenous cultures, they are never the "owner" of the land, they are the "guide" or "caretaker"

[-] 1 points by friendlyopposition (574) 12 years ago

I agree that everyone should be heard on decisions impacting the land, that just isn't what I interpreted the "last say" to be.

[-] 1 points by jjuussttmmee (607) 12 years ago

let then design a new currency and a new government to replace what is

I think out of the Sovereign Nations I'd consider for President Chief Pyle of the Choctaw Nation based on his sound practices and successes which you can read a summary of here and which if applied to the USA would put us on a better path:

Have you checked into maybe getting a life and start living in the present? If you feel that you have worn out your welcome I suggest you leave.

Those words could have been spoken to colonists in 1970 by Native leaders with regard to environmental degradation and their usages would be more realistic than yours.

firewater and casinos for all.

The so called "native Americans " ( Indians), were not native . They came here from Asia over the then existing land bridge that spanned the Bering Sea.

[-] 2 points by Thinkdeer (250) 12 years ago

Red Herring.

[-] -2 points by fandango (241) 12 years ago

Truth

[-] 1 points by Thinkdeer (250) 12 years ago

it is one persons truth, but it isn't the whole truth.

WHen we are talking about "native" in this context we are speaking about a culture which originates in a specific geographic location and environment. The fact that a culture is descended from another geography or location is not really so important. After all by that rational we are all africans. We aren't because our cultures developed in different environments. So yes, native people are native to the place we now call america. Further more, it is a red herring because it doesn't address whether or not we should choose leaders based on their ethnic/cultural backgrounds (we shouldn't) or whether or not the land was taken. It was taken in the same sense that any invasion is, but with the added cruelly of negotiating in bad faith, out right lying, and direct attempted extermination campaigns. The suffering which the european has put on native peoples is immense and on going.

On a side note most evidence suggests that there where multiple migrations to the americas, not just the Bering Sea land bridge which was just one much more recent infusion.

[-] 0 points by SmithGoesWashington (72) 12 years ago

Sir, US is poised to give that suffering to all the people around the world. The plan is to destroy all the world, putting them back in situation similar to Native American Indians; all divided into small countries allowing them having only light weapons then bit by bit colonize their lands pushing them into reservations, change their language and culture. You see, they are dividing even a small country like Belgium. Who incite and inflate those people against each other? They are very calm and polite people now they have started to become angry watching each other.

[-] -2 points by fandango (241) 12 years ago

why would you choose a leader based on ethnicity? thats affirmative action. the current president is the result of that garbage. your noble indians spent time going after and murdering other tribes. Scalping was their thing. they took other tribe members as slaves. They had no written language, had not come up with the wheel, didn't have the horse until the europeans brought them . they were doomed.

[-] 1 points by Thinkdeer (250) 12 years ago

no the current president is the result of being a social progressive, people wanted a social progressive.

I didn't call any one noble. You are putting words in my mouth and I do not appreciate it. Once again your whole case is a red herring.

[-] 0 points by fandango (241) 12 years ago

The people wanted? 0bama was the media 's candidate. They pushed for him by covering for him. P.S. I enjoy herring

[-] 1 points by Thinkdeer (250) 12 years ago

Shmeh, believe what ever you wanna believe.

I think that the Obama campaign was a lie, but I don't think the media really chose him. Most candidates are a joke, all of them are for this election. A deck of clowns.

[-] 0 points by fandango (241) 12 years ago

They chose him by not reporting anything negative about him,...........they printed agenda, they did report news.

[-] 1 points by Thinkdeer (250) 12 years ago

pure fantasy.

[-] 0 points by fandango (241) 12 years ago

are you saying that obama is fantasy or that what I posted was?

[-] 1 points by Thinkdeer (250) 12 years ago

both.

[-] 0 points by fandango (241) 12 years ago

Can't be both.

[-] 1 points by Thinkdeer (250) 12 years ago

You are incorrect the media did not give him free reign, he simply ran a tight campaign.
His presidency did not live up to his campaign promises.

Both.
