We should organize a Fourth Continental Congress. Each Congressional district could elect a delegate to convene a shadow Congress in Philadelphia on July 4, 2012 to vote on a platform demanding, among other things, the return of our Democracy from the corporations and the politicians they have purchased. Let's vote out the current "11% Congress" in toto on November 6, 2012 and ban all private political contributions in favor of public campaign financing. The corporate control of our Democracy will end with the banning of private money in politics in both elections and while in office.
I love this idea! Except that we are a Republic not a Democracy. Democracy screws minority voices. The media and two oligarchy run parties have tricked you into thinking we're a 'democracy'. The Founders knew democracy undermines liberty and the minorities are left out of the process. Break your conditioning and learn the difference...google

fantastic!
This idea of a 4th Congress is BRILLIANT. Importantly, make sure no delegate claims a political party AT ALL. I wonder if the Founding Fathers had party affiliations when they started...?
I would like to add, however, that we need to distinguish "corrupt" types of lobbying from lobbying as a part of a healthy democracy. Every healthy democracy has lobbying, since lobbying helps interests get their messages across to their representatives. The problem with lobbying is that it has become corporation-centric, rather than dealing with the issues of the average American.
It's Time to GET MONEY OUT of politics (Dylan Ratigan's movement) at www.getmoneyout.com
Great idea! Let's remove the money in politics. Let's ban ALL lobbying in Washington. What this movement needs is a huge list of petitions from campaign finance reform to taxation of the rich.
