Please use every social network available to spread the word about the national general strike on May 1st. It is imperative that this action be the kind of success the media can't ignore!
We're on it!
Agreed. That will be a big day.
I have always thought, that while individual protests are great, we need to have one or two when we need to pull out all the stops, and really get people comitted in mass. The may 1 strike and the August 4 rally in Washington are the two relly important ones, I think. With these we can make a statement that cannot be ignored. But to do so we must spread the word. Everbody needs to use social media and all other methods to communicate that these are important and are going to be huge.
Definitely.
After the shooting of Travon, it's all the more important that EVERYONE strike on May 1st! Tell everyone: Tell your mom, your dad, your friends, your neighbors, your co-worrkers: everyone!
And don't be afraid to apply the pressure, the "are you too chickenshit" stuff. The corporate power needs to FEEL this show of force! It needs to feel like an earthquake, a tsunami, an avalanche! They need to piss their pants.
What would you say to people who may ultimately get fired for skipping work on May 1st? No matter how successful the organizers proclaim the general strike to be, it will obviously be pretty unfortunate for some people.
People are DYING in Syria for their human rights. You don't see that the net will just close tighter and tighter around us, until none of us any longer have the power to resist.
I'm sure that person who gets fired on May 1st will really give a damn about people in Syria when it is May 2nd and they have no job but still have bills.
Then they can be frogs in heating water, and lose their dignity in the process of a huminliating and slowly strangulating defeat.
That's their choice.
Widespread participation here could turn the tide. Please tell EVERYBODY to get together on this one!
