The way the General Assembly works at Occupy Wall Street HQ is the message. It's the process that's important, not some list of demands. TV pundits, Tea partiers, Republicans, and others don't seem to understand this. They say "the movement is too vague". They say this because they haven't seen democracy at work. Being able to raise your hand and make politics about what you want and not just go-with-the-flow of politics as usual. Standing up for your own personal interests in the context of a community and arriving at a consensus that everyone agrees on, THAT is the point of Occupy Wall Street. That's what I want from my government. When the government give us that we can give them our support.

The process must include the seeking of consensus and a part of this seeking must be expressing what the ideas and approaches are being looked at. I am hopeful that eventually a list of proposed laws and constitutional amendments. If we are going to TAKE BACK AMERICA we must empower all committed to change to be a part of this process. If we are to be citizens for a demoractic society all this process needs to begin immediately.

We can't take back America until we change the system. If we change just one thing about our government, it has to be the process of participatory democracy. Without that, we will still have just 1% determining the future of the 99%.

Indeed REDEMOCRATIZING America is the first and foremost issue before us. The question is how can we do that and what mechanisms will ensure the best outcome - THEN addressing the means and methods of creating a nation that does not have or support the formation of a power elite MUST take place.

1 GET OUT OF IRAQ & AFGANISTAN RIGHT NOW - END THE WAR. If Obama wants anyones votes - he needs to close down the bases in Iraq, especially the super base in the southern desert. The wars and these bases are black holes consuming millions of our dollars each day.
