I think we seriously need to change, rock bottom up.
FObama: Nah.
Others: I agree with both of you. I might not be financially, economically, and politically savvy, but I think those are not the only things that need to change. I myself am for a spiritual, inside-out change. I don't think people will be ready for it, though, even in the next generations. People aren't ready to think differently, but I believe we are preparing ourselves by getting rid of this idea that we are 'small' and 'powerless'.
I think nations need to come together out of respect, peace, and love and mutually agree to stop all wars, throw away money, and do good not only for their nation, but for all nations. The money saved alone from international warfare and weaponry could help feed millions and provide basic survival needs to all. Don't you think if everyone (all over the world, no matter what) was provided a decent life, we could then focus on bettering ourselves as individuals, and then as a complete, secure world?
I know this seems tiring, stupid and unimportant, but I really don't think it's just "outside" issues that need to be addressed, but our very consciousness and awareness.
Great thinking! Are you a cheerleader?
I agree with you. I think the legacy of this movement will be in figuring out what kind of system we want to replace it with.
Personally I'm in favor of establishing a system of Worker's Councils where directly democratic councils meet and establish a platform and then elect an executor to carry out the platform and represent the local council in higher councils.

I agree : I myself have been calling for a COMPLETE OVERHAUL. We need to rebuild this country from the ground up. If we keep corrupt institutions in place like the Supreme Court, whose members are selected by politicians, we risk staying mired in the same cesspool... I say "DISSOLVE the Supreme Court". And the Pentagon. And the intelligence agnecies, etc. Naturally, the concept of such a total overhaul would have to be put to the people through a national referendum.
And by the way, a peaceful "overhaul" is NOT at all the same as a violent "overthrow". What I am talking about here is in line with Thomas Jefferson's call for "a revolution every twenty years" (see "Second American Revolution" on Wikipedia).
