We the people are the government, the collective. There are some things we can do better individually, there are some things we prefer to do individually, and there are some things that just work better collectively.
Infrastructure should be an ovious one for the collective. We argue about healthcare. It would be a big change. Surgeons and GP's would have to get used to making about a third as much as they do now, we might have to pay them to go to school, which many countries with socialized healthcare do. Defense should be clearly paid for by the collective.
I have this idea though. I have never liked the idea that corporations which are entrenched in the Military-Industrial Complex are investor and stockholder driven. That means that members of terrorist groups or financial backers of those groups could hold stocks in those corprations and we would never know it.
I would like to creat a special class of Not-for-profit corporation that does not have stockholders MIC, a Military Industrial Corporation. They can not hire lobbyists or make a profit. They can only make enough money to pay their employees, like any other not for profit. They can pay themselves and their employees whatever they want, in this way competition might produce better quality and innovation.
But, I am really tired of corporations making money off the blood of soldiers.
When the rich wage war, it's the poor who die.
