Lets assume, graciously, that there are 50,000 across the Country participating in OWS. That is about 0.015% of the population. More people attended the Nebraska / Ohio State football game yesterday. More people will attend ONE pro football game today.
You are not "The 99%." You don't get to claim support that you don't have. What you will end up doing is turning 99% of the 99% against you for your tactics, your message and your disorganization.
With some work, you will become the 1% - just at the opposite end of the spectrum of the 1% you despise.
Their are friends on my Facebook Page tracking #OWS that I never imagined would be interested in activism. I am truly astounded that #OWS in such a short time would have great potential for becoming a national and world movement. Who would imagine that even someone like me, 62 years old approaching retirement, would be drawn to #OWS.
I agree with gemini!!! I live in a rural area but I'm an fully supporting this movement and waiting for it to move closer to home. I'm also planning a 4 hour trip next weekend to join!
How do you know how many, who said 50,000, how many are at home doing what I am doing, sending support, and am waiting until my city has finished their organization. This is just beginning, and yes we can and will represent the 99%, because we are all angry.
OK - sure. There are 50,000 visible protesters but there are 1,000,000 at home just dying to join you. OK.
How do you know there aren't 15 million, those that are out of work, supporting the movement. Why not the 300 million people in this country that have no say in our government. You don't know.
Because I have basic deductive reasoning skills?
That is where you have to look outside the box, deductive reasoning doesn't enter into it. It is in the hearts and minds of all of us that have not been represented by our government for a long time. The Arab Spring brought this about, how many of us supported them. It is our time now.
