Changing the world one issue at a time,BUT What about our (U.S.) government reform issue???. Please bring this cause to the front of the pack , for lasting change, for future Americans...
Article V NOW
Eliminate corruption at all levels, Federal, state and local.
Shorten government funded campaigns to 6 weeks, Federal and state, 4 weeks local initiatives, referendums, recalls. Eliminate all issue ads at all levels. Eliminate lobbying, hire staff sufficient to write legislation in-house. No outside studies, consultants. All bills must be posted on the Internet for 7 days, except for declarations of war following an attack, emergency declarations shall be valid for 30 days..
Eliminate all mercenary organizations, and contractors carrying arms and CIA (and 12 other intelligence agencies analytical staffs).
A well regulated militia is another name for the National Guard.
Eliminate all jobs, consultancies, and think tanks for Congress office holders and staff after serving in Congress. No honorariums, no trading for officeholders accounts during service and for 5 years after.
We must get the money, all of the money, out of governance. Not just the elections but the operation of government, again, at all levels. Rich individuals and companies are buying elections and initiatives, referendums and recalls, all of the way down to school board levels. It must stop. It must be uniform across all states.
Make "promote the general welfare" explicit and across state lines. The government must print and regulate the money supply. It must not make loans to sovereign states or banks.
The financial regulatory agencies must be consolidated, (e.g. SEC. CFTC. Office of the Currency, etc.)
We must have government by the people, for the people.
from the 99% Declaration, this is #2 on the list of grievances:
Yes, let's get the government out of the economy. Away with the commerce clause! Away with the government's legal monopoly on the printing of money! Let's take the power from these 'corporate bastards'.
The current crisis is not likely financial, but is likely moral. People love money and do not love our neighbor. “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows”.
