You know what just occurred to me... my rubber hot water bottle practically saved my life in college when a heat pipe busted in my dorm in the dead of winter. What if Comfort got those for the occupiers and they filled them up on super-cold nights at nearby friendly venues? It would do wonders at keeping their core temperatures up.

i thought about the hot water bottle thing also. hot water would need to be available and it usually is. i stayed in a freezing house in Dublin with no heat at all and the only thing that kept me warm was a hot water bottle in my bed.

All part of their plan to shut it down. Maybe an NGO, like the Red Cross, could be contacted about setting up warming tents on humanitarian grounds? It would be a lot harder for them to fight against that.

I don't believe the Red Cross will come to your aid, they don't seem to help the local homeless much if at all. When's it actually start getting cold in NYC?

I'm not sure how it is now, but I read it had got really cold already. Without fire, electricity or propane it will be tough. But wasn't that the goal of removing that stuff? Just freeze them out? Things are picking up in warmer areas though already. Let's figure out a solution!

I want to know if they still need these cold weather items. Do they update the donate items site often?

Sorry to say, you'll need more then a hot water bottle while living in a tent made for summer use. Has anybody there ever done any winter camping?

I don't know how you'd block the wind in the middle of the city, I choose my campsites to keep the wind down, and use better quality gear then most of what I've seen shown so far.
