Do you want an issue that will solve Americas economic crisis, spawn a plethora of new green business's and jobs, save American family farms, help ease global warming and make the world a better, healthier, safer place to live? Here you go. Get behind it.Why is the government spending billions of dollars trying to "stimulate" the economy. When the answer is right in front of our noses. Re-legalize Hemp cultivation in the United States. Put unemployed people to work. Give struggling farmers a profitable, easy to manage crop to grow. Put an end to deforestation, pollution and dependence on foreign oil. Just think of all the money that would saved if you no longer had to deal with pollution alone. It is ridiculous that we import Hemp into this country but can not grow it! Hemp is a natural, sustainable plant material whose byproducts can be made into almost anything. Clothing, food, fuel, building and industrial materials etc. It is easy to grow, requires little water as it is drought resistant, requires no pesticides or herbicides, and has deep roots that aerate the soil and protect against erosion as well as making excellent organic compost material to return to the soil or to use as mulch. Hemp has a dense growth that inhibits the growth of weeds. Hemp can replace trees as a source for making everything from paper to toothpicks. 1 acre of Hemp is roughly equivalent to 4 acres of trees. Except that it takes decades, even centuries, to grow an acre of trees. In some areas you can harvest 4 crops of Hemp per year on the same plot of land. An acre of Hemp can produce 10 tons per acre of natural, chemical free material every 90 to 120 days. Hemp paper is stronger than paper made from trees and Hemp pulp does not require the same polluting chlorine based bleaches to whiten it. Hemp is an excellent source of fiber and can replace cotton. It is estimated that up the HALF of of all agricultural products used on crops in the United States are applied to cotton. Cotton also requires an estimated 800,000 gallons of water per acre per year to grow. Hemp can also be made into bio fuel to power your automobile, In fact it is more efficient and cleaner burning than corn based fuels. It is a clean renewable fuel source. One that can end dependence on polluting petroleum based products and end our dependence on foreign oil.
elme.. stop talking shit and go away....
