We need to change people not wall street. people are uneducated and they fall for whatever propoganda so before you blame the politicians or the corporate lobbyist, blame the voter. and if people are truly making educated decisions when they vote then you are the 1%.

Can't change people... but polls are ultimately unreliable when it comes to conservative opinions. Most conservatives are more moderate than believed.

Most conservatives actually hate the likes of Limbaugh, Beck, and others. Dems don't bother communicating with them because it's unnecessary to getting elected.

Think about this

"Both parties are rotten - how could they not be, given the complete infestation of the political system by corporate money on a scale that now requires a presidential candidate to raise upwards of a billion dollars to be competitive in the general election?"

An honest candidate can't compete against a few hundred million dollars worth of corporate financed candidate.

80% of the way a person votes is based on television and ad campaign commercials which is all based on how much money a candidate has to get them in the spot light.

Even if you disagree with that, you should be able to agree that getting money out of politics is still a good idea. It evens the playing field and restores the voice of the people. Candidates are in a place where they need money and a lot of it if they want to win. So they have to appeal to the people donating money. It's that simple.

president has little power the senate and congress do. and at a more local scale anyone can run if the immediate community wants to push the candidate, therefore the political system we have is ideal. the problem is that we want to work as a large country but we don't agree.

The problem is people cannot adjust to technology. We have created a useful monster with the Internet.
