What does human history teach us is the end of a nation's greed? Rome fell at the hands of slaves. France and Russia fell to the peasants. Most recently the Middle East is rife with revolution at the hands of disenfranchised peoples tired of being slaves to national leaders who lie, cheat, steal and subject their people to tyranny. Does Corporate American and their political minions believe they are an exception to historic rule? Look to history to see your end. You are not the exception to human rule.
We're done being slaves Wall Street. We're done hearing your lies. We're done not being able to house or feed our children, or afford to take our sick family members to the doctor as your only ethic is to suck, like vampires, the life blood of world resources to secure your obscene profits produced by raping humanity. If you're going to rob Americans blind have the courage to hold us up at gunpoint like a common street thug. Rather, you send your lobbyists with millions of dollars of blood money to buy the favor of fellow vampire criminals residing comfortable in Washington.
Thomas Jefferson said, "All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent."
We will be silent no more, nor will we be subjugated to social or economic injustice. Hmmmm....Wall Street, you are 1%. You're outnumbered and your greed is your own demise. Look out your opulent windows and face the 99%.
One of our own Presidents said this: "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." John F. Kennedy
What a privilege to be in your company!
What nobody gets is that these right wingers are ignorant and are going to be selected out by evolution. You see, I live in Idaho with the worst of them. They don't read, most are illiterate and fox is the only information source for the whole bunch of propaganda sucking automatons of hate. Tabloid news is all they have ever studied and their principals consist of false evil arrogance, theft, lies and cronyism. Do what I do; make fun of them and ignore them. They say they believe in christ but they do the opposite and believe the opposite of Christ. They are the Antichrists of modern times.
A timely post....I really like the way you put it in plain English.
Let's put some teeth into it people - line up and shut down their business, one account at a time. Bank of America is to banking what a child molester is to baby sitting. If you don't have an account at BofA (I salute you!) then line up in solidarity and ask as many questions of the tellers as they have time for as to why their bosses deceived the American people for a quick buck? Take their time up and question their judgement.
Take a bite out of corporate crime! Line up and close those accounts.
NEXT THRUSDAY OCTOBER 13, CLOSE YOUR BofA ACCOUNTS
MJT, you go to the heart of the power of this revolution, e.g., we need to change our consuming behaviors, and in doing so, accept the costs of doing so. How do you starve out a virus? Don't feed it.
Spot on riverwoman! Please spread the need to bring down the largest corporate criminal in banking history, next Thursday, 10/13/2011
Cheers!
We are Occupy Moscow, Idaho. I will pass on the action. I just wonder what would happen if the movement withdrew our resources from the banks for a week? A month? I'm just loving the banks proposal that they will charge us $5.00 to use a debit card. Really? Notice how, when we pay our bills online, it takes 3-7 days for an electronic system to process our payments? BS...the banks are using our bank accounts to make profits for 3-7 days. Shameful. I'm for small local banks or credit unions. They still actually have REAL regulations that protect consumers.
BofA is the biggest bully. We must organize our collective 'voice' and take our money out as soon as we can - this includes all Merrill Lynch branches as well. Move your investments elsewhere.
Wonder what the bankrupt Big Banks' Fico would have been when they cried to the taxpayer's for a loan? Twelve Million homes foreclosed upon now since 2008. Because they have a low Fico, Banks turn them away with the comment why should we loan a taxpayer money with a low Fico? Isn't this ironic? Why is there a safety net for the Big Banks while the Amerrican taxpayer gets screwed?
Sure. And the corporate rating system, S&P, Moody's, Fitch, etc. are all 'Pay of Play' arrangements - corporations shop these sham organizations for whoever will give them the highest credit rating. Carl, join us in delivering a crushing blow, while the iron is hot, to BofA this coming Thursday.
