Opinion by John R. Liming

(Tuesday, October 11th at l:00 PM EST USA)—-After the arrest of about 80 peaceful protesters at the “Occupy Wall Street” rallies recently, I guess the previously apparently indifferent “Media” are beginning to pay attention.

Corporate militancy against Citizens of The United States will not long escape the attention of either the nation or the World.

I mean, after all, this is not just a few “Dissidents” expressing their concerns anymore. This thing is spreading across America like an uncontrolled wildfire of indignant citizen rage at the excesses of government and Big Business.

I kind of “Got Off” on watching the reaction to the protest movement from the idiots on the far Right Wing Extremest Media the other night. It is abundantly clear to me that the Christian Conservative Extremists may have ignited something here they cannot control.

The fear is showing in their public responses and I am rolling in the aisle. It is about time, in my view, that American Grass Roots victims of Big Money finally got “Mad As Hell” and start to declare that they “Aren’t Going To Take It Any More.”

It is reported from the streets that police brutality is enjoying a field day at some of these protests with people being herded like animals into enclosed spaces and maced by leering and often laughing “Protectors and Servers Of The People.”

One woman is reported to have had hair yanked from her scalp by one of the apparently more sadistic enforcers on hand to control the “Riots.”

Tensions are obviously rising all across the country against what some perceive to be social injustices brought on by the government bank bail outs and the mortgage crisis among other things.

I have heard that there are plenty of videos posted online depicting the unusually harsh responses of Law Enforcement to the protesters.

Protesters themselves are claiming that in many instances, the violence from the Police has been justified as a lawful response to disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, blocking traffic, refusing to obey lawful orders of police and all kinds of excuses that some see as possibly “Ginned Up” to excuse police actions.

There have also been some reports coming from the center of the protest action that suggests that some of the police at the scene have “Provoked” some of the demonstrators to say things or to react in a defensive manner in order to have an excuse to “Herd and Arrest.”

I guess “Pro Active” police work is getting a good workout.

There is apparently some concern that the “Occupy Wall Street” movement might be based somewhat on things that have recently taken place in such places as Egypt, Greece and Spain.

One of the main gripes among the protesters seems to be the ever expanding disparity between the rich and the not so rich in America with the attendant accompanying fiscal miseries.

So My question now becomes, “What does one have to do in America to be heard by anyone that counts? Does one have to take to the streets and risk getting one’s rear end kicked and beaten by those pledged to protect us? Is suffering physical abuse the only way left open to the common person to get their voices heard in high places? Has it come to that in America?”

Why has the Media been so quiet about the outrages being reported against persons in these protests?

Would it be too much to ask who is the real enemy of The American people today? Is it the fat cat money changers flush with bailout money supplied by the “Little Guy?” Is it the “Little Guy” him (Or her) self? Is it those pledged to “Protect and Serve?”

How big can this thing become before someone gets the bright idea to call out the troops with their tanks and bayonets? I still remember the days of Kent State in Ohio.

I am perfectly willing to believe, with all my heart and soul, that if some of the (Can’t think of a nasty-enough word that would be printable) had their druthers, the bullets would already be flying against the protests.

If you have been any kind of a student of the absolute “Hate” rhetoric being spouted against Liberals, Democrats and Progressives by certain Right Wing Media Show Hosts, you would soon conclude that tragedy could rear her ugly head over these protests– especially if they grow or begin to look like they might have any significant influence over political affairs.

I am 73-years-old now and do you know what worries me, folks? I worry about the day coming when there might actually be food riots and tax rebellions and a deepening recession that could literally wipe everything we have worked and hoped and dreamed for all these years completely out... read more:
