We need to rethink the conversation surrounding the actions of the 1%. Saying they are "greedy" only compliments their actions and suggests they are just intensely focused on money. I don't believe this is accurate. I think these people are more accurately labeled "selfish". They lack consideration for others and are really only concerned for themselves. This hedonistic lifestyle is what is destroying this country. They don't care about the future of their children or their neighbors, or anyone else. That's why they don't understand this movement. How can they ever be considerate of the 99% when they only care about themselves?

This strikes at the heart of the whole "corporate personhood" debate that is going on. Right now our government is treating corporations (an government created entity established for the sole purpose of avoiding personal liability while pursuing profits) like they have the same rights as a flesh and blood American citizen. All the rights, but very few of the responsibilities. This needs fundamental change if we ever want to get integrity back into our political system. We need to end corporate personhood.

Yes and no... Corporations are faceless, but the people who run them aren't. That's who I'm referring to, and those people need to be more considerate of the country as a whole. That said - - I completely agree with your points regarding "corporate personhood". Corporations shouldn't be entitled to a voice or any of the benefits of "citizenship". They shouldn't be allowed to influence government or contribute to political campaigns. If a corporation believes in changing legislation, its workers should speak individually, with one voice.

That's a very good point.
