If you have been outwardly supporting Gov. Romney, but have come to realize that he is not the man you thought he was, you don't have to tell anybody for whom you actually vote. If you prefer not to lie to your friends, and they have the bad manners to ask you for whom you voted, say, "For the next President of the United States, of course."
which is why the ballot counters can give us any count they want
Why lie? That attitude of taking the easy way out of things and telling people what they want to hear is part of our problem. You start accepting easy lies for yourself and that makes you willing to accept the bigger lies from politicians. You vote for who you believe in, you either discuss it or you don't.
good point. I wasn't suggesting lying but sometimes avoidance saves a death in the family :)
