Vote with your vote? What Congress members support automatic pay raises for themselves, with no vote and no perromance evaluation?
Start with voting those guys and gals out of office. (HR 187 bill).
Look it up.

Political power takes a long time to excercise. We can start changing things right NOW. See the shopping guidelines at http://bit.ly/vof9WH (no ads, no profit no agenda but to help Americans help each other while screwing the mega-corps and banks).

Read the guidelines and, if you agree, post the http://bit.ly/vof9WH link as far and wide as possible using e-mail, twitter, facebook, etc !

We CAN change the face of Corporate America AND put our people back to work. We just need to use our social media skills to get the word out !

I want to vote with the money I spend. "National Boycott"

[-] 0 points by Droid24JG (119) from New York, NY 13 years ago

Any spending is just feeding the current corrupt machine.
Vote at the polls with an educated vote for candidates that will support the 99%.

[-] -1 points by USCitizenVoter (720) 13 years ago

please make a post of the candidates you support

First, I have a 2 year old so I can't "boycott Christmas" but I have bought almost everything used and told everyone that's going to buy her a gift that if it says "made in..." anywhere in Asia and especially china, that it will be returned or donated.

Second, I believe trader Joe's is or was, on quite a few bad lists because they refuse to sign on to paying fair wages to the farm workers that are involved in their products. Even whole foods signed it and they're far from a socially responsible company.

Third, Google is also a questionable company.

Finally is their a list that's been agreed to? I'd like to give it to my wife before tomorrow.

A couple things: First, make sure you do your homework before depositing your money in a credit union or local bank. Many of them are actually owned by the big boys. Second, add GE to your boycott list. GE, along with General Motors, are pioneers in outsourcing. Jeffrey Immelt, GE head honcho, has been appointed Obama's so-called 'jobs czar' in spite of the fact that GE is moving its 115-year old X-ray plant from Wisconsin to China and plans on investing $2 billion in that country to accomplish it. GE closed 29 of its factories in the US in 2009 and 2010, laying off thousands of workers. Adding insult to injury, GE paid zero income taxes in 2010 and actually received a refund of $3.2 billion despite earning $14.2 billion in profits. WTF?

Thank you, I added GE to the list

THIS IS HOW TO OCCUPY!!! Finally, someone with the right idea to affect change. Those who fail to study history, are bound to repeat it! Don't be fooled, the "mob mentality" that has overthrown governments in other nations will not have the same affects here. OWS will just look like disgruntled hippies in the eyes of the world, unless it directly affects corporations where it will hurt most- in the purse. Before I forget, another idea is for people to switch their phone service to either Vonage, Magic Jack, Skype or NetTalk. Why should people pay larger phone companies monthly when they could either pay annually or cheaper monthly? Switch from cable or satellite and go to Roku or Google TV. I've switched my phone and cable and will save more than 1500 next year and I am supporting smaller companies that so far have provided better service. One last point: Please let the OWS movement know that at the moment, they are only hurting the smaller business and average person with the areas they occupy. Call it casualties, but remember these are the ones they're suppose to be helping. I also believe that this movement should be like the tea party and affect change at the polls (forming a new political party with ties to no lobbies or companies), and in the courts (class action suing all the banks and companies that have contributed to this mess and have gotten away with it). Thank you

"Boycott Christmas 2011" don't buy a gift, handmake a gift.

[-] 0 points by entrepreneur (69) 13 years ago

Request people to buy from local-businesses, small businesses. Bank at credit unions and this is most important one. this ensures our money does not go to make wall street rich. buying vegetables and fruits at local farmers market ensures your money circulates in local economy. buy whole grains or raw ingredients instead of buying processed foods. Eliminate foods that has 'high fructose corn syrup', 'modified corn starch' , trans-fat. eliminate breakfast cereals and breads which have above ingredients. If possible buy bread makers and make your own bread. Best grocery store in west coast is 'traders Joe' Brands to rule out : GM, Frito-lays, Pepsi, coca-cola. Also rule out McDonalds/KFC. For gasoline try to get your car converted to electric and charge it using solar power. or buy electric cars. Make your own solar power. Dont buy at chevron which funds the politicians who are in favor of oil companies and against green future.

EXACTLY ! I posed some Christmas shopping guidelines at http://bit.ly/vof9WH . No ads, no profit, no agenda other than to get Americans to help one another while bypassing the banksters and super-corporations. If you like those guidelines, please pass the link as far and wide as possible !
