Dear occupiers,

Sorry for my english, I am Dutch. I did the best I could and would like to make a point to all of you. Please read my message carefully!

After much about the philosophy of the movement to occupy have thought I came up with a great solutions to use their own weapons against them. This idea would fit completely into the strategy of the movement occupy and actually can bring about a difference between people, cultures, religions and the current incumbents in the form of political parties. This is only needed awareness. As in recent years has become increasingly clear is the voice of the people no longer hear in today's politics. The current situation is dire, in which politics has become an extension of business and people trying to enforce international agreements. This is contrary to democratic norms and values, with the majority for the minority to decide. In other words, the present political system does not reflect the population anymore. It's a bad play that should give us the impression that our voice be translated into words. Often empty words.

This reflects the ideas of the people in today's politics no longer be found. Politics creates only the illusion of a sham democracy which looks more like a dictatorship. This is reflected by hundreds of cameras on the street, tapping conversations, tracing of the Internet, forcing decisions, dissident detention or murder, innovative knowledge not to share with us, making decisions on everyone's feeling, supporting wars etc. Every man has the good and evil within them. For everyone it's different, but the majority we will all agree on.

I would like to show you some examples of my writing enumerate a number of situations where the people are not heard in my country, the Netherlands;

  • The four years to vote for a political party that never gets his objectives. (Running, populist making empty promises.)
  • The murder of our Pim Fortuin which was too strong for the current rulers. The policy envisioned a humane and popular support enjoyed. Kill!
  • Did the imposition of Euro 2005 after a referendum where the people clearly want the opposite.
  • The scientific evidence without administering the flu shot among a large proportion of the population. Which now appears that this is only a very limited effect. and recently:
  • The situation in Greece, the country where democracy was invented, no referendum on the Euro by the fear of uitkomst.Let on, I talk to mismanagement not good! But like democracy, a country where democracy was invented prohibit a referendum is surely madness. -The situation of Mauro an immigrant, which any sane man should want him to stay. This guy seems a model for integration. All arguments about bias into account when it falls apart. What we people from other countries to work for us (Poles and Romanians for example) and our skilled foreign student would rather lose than keep. This is the world's upside down.

In various moods showed that the people want him in the Netherlands. The same people who recently even voted for the PVV.

Why do not assume politicians will heed the voice of the people? They represent us anyway? Apparently not.

On all the above statements, the balance of security and freedom of application. Less security means more freedom. Less freedom means more security. This statement is applied to many things. We are very beaten by the last 50 years in the security story. And yet everyone knows that nothing is certain. This is illustrated by the results of actions taken. I can say that with the advent of cameras on the streets of freedom has decreased, but the increased freedom? There still happen everyday things that should not be. Only now fewer in the street. On the internet, this theorem applies. We virus, hosts, secure servers and people who fight the excesses of the Internet. So it seems to be that freedom has decreased. But we got real freedom in return? No one can guarantee me that my computer will not happen. Fear is a bad counselor. Be therefore not influenced by the ideal pursuit of freedom, but fight for your freedom. This will provide new opportunities to advance. My proposal is: At the next election, I myself and others want to motivate themselves to put that in there for a majority of the population would vote blank. Warning Blank! Not to not vote. Based on the events of recent years seems to me very simply a majority of our country to convince that this is very important for their future. Because we actually live in a dictatorship, the political outcome of any attempt to lay down beside her, but the people have spoken. The awareness is a fact that politics does not do what they claim to do, namely to represent the people, but only their own lobbies run. Once this awareness is as concrete, the change near. Not only in our country, but in each country who say firms democracy, but actually a dictatorship are open to criticism. Vote blank let your voices be heard, The current policy has lost its credibility.

The majority always has the power, multiply, instead of waiting.

Yours sincerely,

Hust

In my country this would be different to your country. Blank votes are seen as a vote of no confidence. Why would you otherwise visit the voting booth an not fill in a red dot? You could have stayed home and watch football.

It's true, but our electoral system works differently. Voting blank is considered no different than not voting by our current system. It will not be considered a vote of No Confidence, it will be considered as not a vote. And that's already been happening over the past forty years. It's called low turnout and it's a serious problem. Now, giving the public the ability to vote No Confidence with a 90% recall threshold might be a good idea.

Doesn't we have the same problems as you, because of the same banking system? the same corrupt stock trading system? a lackage of jobs? I think you don't understand how our country is infuenced by yours.

Thank you in advance!

@OP: if you don't vote, you make it easier for the political group you do not support to achieve majority.

don't sabotage your own life. vote.

Same problem around the world. Record high concentration of wealth. The rich are too rich. Period.

We have been mislead by Reagan, Bush Sr, Clinton, Bush Jr, Obama, and nearly every other public figure. Economic growth, job creation, and actual prosperity are not necessarily a package deal. In fact, the first two are horribly misunderstood. Economic growth/loss (GDP) is little more than a measure of domestic wealth changing hands. A transfer of currency from one party to another. The rate at which it is traded. This was up until mid ’07′ however, has never been a measure of actual prosperity. Neither has job creation. The phrase itself has been thrown around so often, and in such a generic political manner, that it has come to mean nothing. Of course, we need to have certain things done for the benefit of society as a whole. We need farmers, builders, manufacturers, transporters, teachers, cops, firefighters, soldiers, mechanics, sanitation workers, doctors, managers, and visionaries. Their work is vital. I’ll even go out on a limb and say that we need politicians, attorneys, bankers, investors, and entertainers. In order to keep them productive, we must provide reasonable incentives. We need to compensate each by a fair measure for their actual contributions to society. We need to provide a reasonable scale of income opportunity for every independent adult, every provider, and share responsibility for those who have a legitimate need for aid. In order to achieve and sustain this, we must also address the cost of living and the distribution of wealth. Here, we have failed miserably. The majority have already lost their home equity, their financial security, and their relative buying power. The middle class have actually lost much of their ability to make ends meet, re-pay loans, pay taxes, and support their own economy. The lower class have gone nearly bankrupt. In all, its a multi-trillion dollar loss taken over about 30 years. Millions are under the impression that we need to create more jobs simply to provide more opportunity. as if that would solve the problem. It won’t. Not by a longshot. Jobs don’t necessarily create wealth. In fact, they almost never do. For the mostpart, they only transfer wealth from one party to another. A gain here. A loss there. Appreciation in one community. Depreciation in another. In order to create net wealth, you must harvest a new resource or make more efficient use of one. Either way you must have a reliable and ethical system in place to distribute that newly created wealth in order to benefit society as a whole and prevent a lagging downside. The ‘free market’ just doesn’t cut it. Its a farce. Many of the jobs created are nothing but filler. The promises empty. Sure, unemployment reached an all-time low under Bush. GDP reached an all-time high. But those are both shallow and misleading indicators. In order to gauge actual prosperity, you must consider the economy in human terms. As of ’08′ the average American was working more hours than the previous generation with far less equity to show for it. Consumer debt, forclosure, and bankruptcy were also at all-time highs. As of ’08′, every major American city was riddled with depressed communities, neglected neighborhoods, failing infrastructures, lost revenue, and gang activity. All of this has coincided with massive economic growth and job creation. Meanwhile, the rich have been getting richer and richer and richer even after taxes. Our nation’s wealth has been concentrated. Again, this represents a multi-trillion dollar loss taken by the majority. Its an absolute deal breaker. Bottom line: With or without economic growth or job creation, you must have a system in place to prevent too much wealth from being concentrated at the top. Unfortunately, we don’t. Our economy has become nothing but a giant game of Monopoly. The richest one percent of Americans already own nearly 1/2 of all US wealth. An all-time high. More than double their share before Reagan took office. The lower 90 percent of Americans own less than 10 percent of all US wealth. An all-time low. Still, the rich want more. They absolutely will not stop. Now, our society as a whole is in serious jeapordy. Greed kills.

Those of you who agree on these major issues are welcome to summarize this post, copy it, link to it, save it, show a friend, or spread the word in any fashion. Most major cities have daily call-in talk radio shows. You can reach thousands of people at once. They should know the ugly truth. Be sure to quote the figures which prove that America's wealth is still being concentrated. I don't care who takes the credit. We are up against a tiny but very powerful minority. The rich have more influence on the masses than any other group in history. They have the means to reach millions at once with outrageous political and commercial propaganda. Those of us who speak the ugly truth must work incredibly hard just to be heard.

If more than half of the people will vote blank, you think they won't notice? It won't be on every news channel in the world? Democracy is of the people!! Let your voice be heard!

[-] 1 points by technoviking (484) 13 years ago

voting blank is emphatically NOT a vote for no government.

it's a cession of control from you to the majority of the remainder
